pagans in the armed forces

we find our selves on the cusp of great things we are stronger than we have been befor yet simple ignorance has put up an obstacle that we have trouble in overcoming. those who have been the brunt of discrimination at the hands of their fellow co workers will understand this. i am a open pagan in the military i have been since i came in back in 97 the first three years were filled this jokes that while meant to tease hurt some times but in my new er unit i have found the ugly face of predjudice and open animosity i ask only for prayers for my strength to shake off these slings and arrows they would be greatly apreiciated until then brothers and sisters of the gods i wish you well

tyrsspear prayers for knowing that others often hate what they do not understand and that it is okay to not have the knowledge that some do not no okay to harm them. I will also pray that fear of others will never get you down again. To differ from the norm alone shows strength that others never master. You are strong! You can let these things make you more strong but never doubt your strength! Never give hate that power love and you will be fine. Do not let them harm you. Only pray they find their own way with out harm.

My thoughts and prayers are most definantly with you !!! My father is in the Coast Guard, I'm Pagan and i wanted to join the military, but can't because I am half blind. I just want you to know that I really appreciate what you guys do for our country and our people and I'm glad to know there are open, proud Pagans in our military. Don't let those people get you down-they simply don't understand our ways. Keep on going :)

Nonononnono as a veteren who served not once but TWICE this is ridiculous to me. What happened to the equal rights of religion to Pagans that was established some years back!???? OH GEORGE!!! YOU HAVEN'T WON YET!

Being a veteren of both the vietnam era and gulf war era you have more than that from me my Friend. You have my email address should you need any advice. I will do everything in my meager power to back you in your RIGHT to worship as your God(dess) requires.

I have a son and many friends in the military and I want to thank you for serving also. My son was fortunate in that the Air Force is more accepting and tolerant. He is not pagan but attended some Wiccan informational meetings while in BMT. He has not chosen the path but is far more accepting of mine. Sending some healing and protective energies your way.

I know how you feel, I was in the Army duriing Viet Nam and had to hide my pagan life path. Now it is legal to be pagan in the armed forces and wicca is recognised by all arms of the services. Sadly alot of units have not been informed of this. Energies to you to continue to be strong and live yourlife as you choose.

I am in the army and am very open about my beliefs. Because of my position and the way in which I present myself, I havent had so much as a snicker in 2 years. I am sorry your unit has people in it that do not follow our most basic army values. I would speak with your chaplin, he may not understand your religion, but he will your delemna, it is his job to be unbiased and offer you spiritual guidance. I cant understand how there is still room in our occupation for bias. After all that we and our families have suffered! My heart is with you.
