Personally, I've always wondered if Adam and Eve had belly buttons...

in the article provided, there is a point made about god saying that they would die in the same day they ate the fruit.
the world translated into "day" must be taken into the same account as a creational "day"
the other people recorded in genesis were said to have extraordinary lifespans... so perhaps in a way, adam and eve did indeed die within the span of a creational "day".
thats my only issue that wasn't really discussed at a point in the actual article. all in all it was kinda interesting and I thank you for sharing it. I'd be intersted to see anyone elses ideas on it as well.

I've seen so many different interpretations of this, all of them interesting. The story of Genisis has been rewritten and rewritten, translation of words changing to suit another language, certain parts deleted or changed to fit in with the social times, ect.
The most interesting one is from the ancient astronaut idea. Adam and Eve were the indeginous species (not just a couple, but an early species of people), who'se biology were tampered with by an alien race from a different world. The "apple" could've been some sort of pill or chemical, not necessarily a real apple. This substance was taken by "adam and eve", had a major impact on their biology, genes and mental state that it changed them in generations to come. God, angels and the Serpent have been interprated as spirits and aliens. It's possible human beings had been tampered with, so that we were reformed into their image.

The book Ishmael has the best take on the Adam and Eve story I've heard so far.
