Ive recently taken an interest in voudo/voodoo.
papa legba is an important figure within this tradition. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with invoking him.
Or even any general information about this deity

thanks

I didnt find a whole lot out there but here are a few things...

"The Haitian voodoo god who acts as an intermediary between the loa and humans. He is also the god of the crossroads; he opens the road to the spirit world. He taught mankind the use of oracles and how to interpret them.
Papa Legba is commonly depicted as an old man sprinkling water or an old man with a crutch, and is also known as Legba or Legba Ati-Bon. In any vodoun ceremony, Legba is the first loa invoked, so that he may "open the gate" for communication between the worlds. The dog is his symbolic animal."

I'd be careful with Papa Legba. Besides being a well-respected Orisha, he is also the trickster Orisha. I've heard that he can be somewhat dangerous.

I was interested in the Yoruba tradition for a while (the Yoruba tradition is similar to Vodun, Santeria, etc.) I used to have a whole lot of information on it, but I frankly lost interest because of the exorbitant prices they charge for learning and initiation. Way higher than any New Age seminar, to be sure. ;) Because I lost interest, I think I've deleted the bookmarks. But I'll see what I can find for you.

Rather than post all the links, I'll just post this one to the Open Directory Project's directory (http://dmoz.org/Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/African/Diasporic/) on African Diasporic religion. Yoruba, Ifa, Babalawo, Lucumi, Ocha, Santeria, and Vodun are all closely related to each other and share the same Orishas under slightly different names, so you might want to check out some of the sites under all of those categories.

Hope this is helpful.

---I don't know much in this area but have to agree...

---I can say that unless your really ingrained with the ability to trully understand the entire energy behind these types of religions, then your in over your head before you even start...
I've no idea who you are or anything else, so no insult intended...
If your really interested and don't know much about it, read up, then find a teacher...

---Good Luck---

Interesting fellow. Try burning/destroying a mode of transportation at a crossroads, or giving him liquor.
