hi guys!

i was wondering if someone could give me some feedback on this reading....

i did this on the night of the eclipse but couldn't really figure it out (i'm relatively new to reading cards....) so here they are:

Celtic Cross Spread....
1. Prince of Swords
2. 4 of penacles (discs in my deck)
3. Queen of penacles
4. 7 of penacles
5. 9 of cups
6. Knight or prince of swords
7. queen of swords
8. 3 wands
9. 10 of penacles
10. princess or page of cups

deck used Rohrig-Tarot....

my deck is wierd...it has princess and prince instead of page and Knight....i believe that the princess is a page and a prince is a knight.

a little back ground on this reading....i pulled the cards outside under the eclipse, brought them inside but left half of them outside where my fiance found them when he came home in a pile on the walk. i wasn't sure if they were the first that i drew or the last, so i just plunked them together. i wasn't going to do the spread, mostly because i thought it was messed up but i did anyways. also, i laid down the last 4 cards backward and had to put them right...laid them from the top down, instead of bottom up. i don't read reversed right now either....

ideas?
thanks

Hi there, moonchild!

Everyone has a different version of the Celtic Cross spread, could you include the position meanings that you use please? I wouldn't want to interpret the card you use as "past" as something other than that! LOL

Thanks bunches,
Lisa :)

You also haven't mentioned a) what the reading was about or b) what you did get from the reading - what interpretations made sense and what's unclear, or how you view the cards in their positions. Since *you* did the reading the spread is going to appeal to *your* symbols and beliefs, and therefore what's paramount is what came up for *you*.

After all, imho, the tarot cards are just tools for your subconscious to speak the words of the Divine, and therefore they have meanings from *your* subconscious.

doh! what the positions mean probably would've helped, eh? :bigredblu

position 1 is the significator
position 2 is the influences that cross or oppose position 1
pos. 3 conscious mind, past influences that caused the situation
pos.4 subconscious, influences that have just recently passed or is on the way out
pos. 5 past, influences that is coming into being
pos. 6 immediate future (1-2 wks)
pos. 7 future, 4-6 weeks
pos. 8 what others think of you, not nessarily what you know of yourself
pos. 9 fears and wishes
pos. 10 outcome in 6 months

i don't remember exactly the question i gave because i basically was taking in the power of the night (eclipse) and just thinking about it in general...could possibly be about my path?

basically what i am looking for is a general suggestion on this reading. i'm pretty much new at doing readings, i do them much better for someone else than for myself. it maybe too late to interpret this one, just because of the time frame future cards. :hmmmmm:

thanks for any feedback!

Celtic Cross Spread....
1. Significator: Prince of Swords
2. Opposing influences: 4 of penacles
3. Concious mind/Past cause: Queen of penacles
4. Subconcious/Past influence: 7 of penacles
5. Present (?): 9 of cups
6. Immediate future: Knight or prince of swords
7. 4-6 weeks future: queen of swords
8. What others think: 3 wands
9. Fears/wishes: 10 of penacles
10. 6 month outcome: princess or page of cups

Okie dokie then. This is sort of generalized because you said you weren't focusing on anything in particular.

Is there a project that you've wanted to start, or something you've really wanted to do, but you haven't been able to? I get the feeling that it's either because you don't have the money right now, or because you want to save money and are afraid to spend it. With the Prince of Swords it seems like it might be a rather quick decision to do this thing and you'd have to act quickly. Does it have something to do with schooling?

Ah, and then we have the 2 past influences cards. This makes me think that the reason you aren't taking off and doing this thing is because you are just too practical. You can't see your way clear to spend or "waste" the money and time on this thing. And that might be because you aren't sure that whatever it is will pan out the way you want it to. It's one of those ventures that's on rather shaky ground and you're not sure if it would be a good thing or not.

Right now you might be feeling as if things are coming together nicely, you have some money in the bank and maybe everything isn't perfect, but it might be getting a bit better. You have some goals set for yourself and you're working towards them.

Uh oh! A problem. You've listed the Prince of Swords 2 times. Which one is which? I'll keep going as if everything is good.

The farther future is guarded by the Queen of Swords. This makes me think that whatever is coming up is going to be decided by logical thinking. You're not going to go rushing off on any ill-planned adventures. You might seem rather cold about it, but logic is like that sometimes.

Others are thinking that your ship has come in! You have an opportunity before you and they want you to take it, they think it will be very good for you. But only you know whether or not that's true, so take your time and think your way through it, don't let them bully you!

Well, of course everyone wants this, the 10 of Pents! You're hoping to be able to provide for yourself and your family and be self-sufficient. No big surprise there!

And in 6 months I think you will have gotten a message that whatever decision you made is the right one. You might also be in a place where you can relax and start to enjoy yourself some more. Let that "logical guard" down a bit and have some fun and let your emotions back into your life!

Now, just let me know which of those cards really is the Knight of Swords and we'll be in business! I can't tell you how many times I've made that mistake myself! :D
