I'm studying Media Technology Production and for my final year I need to come up with a thirty minute television documentary. It can be about anything, so I thought i'd see if any of you lot have some wonderful ideas :)

The only restrictions are distnace and money, apart from that it can be about anything we like!

It would be great to hear of any ideas.

Thankyou!

are there any places near by which have a historical significance, or legend, myth, or a strange phenomena?

Oh wow, very exciting!

Obviously, explaining Wicca or another form of Paganism could be a great topic. Round up other practioneers from yoru area to talk about it on film. That'd be nifty. Or perhaps something of interest to you, i.e. art, a local band, etc.

How do you like your course? I'm in a closely related field of filmmaking. I've learned everything from being on set, rather then going to school. It's been harder, because I was fully sumerged but great none the less.

i like what punkymister said about a local band in particular... why not follow a local band around through practice, and maybe a live show. being in a band myself, sometimes it's really a good source of interesting stuff... drama... fighting... creativity... it might be cool. plus you'd have a good amount of different stuff to work with, and could use their music as background music for parts that weren't already showing them playing. it might be a lot of fun.

I was thinking about wiccan or paganism as a topic. Obviously it is very broad so I'd like to focus on a smaller area. Any ideas what would be interesting? We've been advised to stay away from 'alternative medicines' as I think it's been done to death over the last few years.

I really enjoy my course, it's a little bit of everythign - radio, televison, computers etc. I'd really love to get into TV. How did you get into filmmaking? Do you enjoy it? I won a scholarship at our uni to go and work for Sky tv for 2 weeks. Im really looking forward to it :)

What sort of music does your band play?

If you do decide for Paganism - I agree, go with a smaller area. Such as Paganism, Strega, Druidry, Buddhism, et cetera. Gather local practioneers to talk about it, perhaps film a ritual and get to the nitty gritty of what the religion is all about.

It's hard to say how I got into filmmaking - I just did. I always loved it. I truly believe that acting, filmmaking and writing are my "destiny" as corny as it sounds. Since I could remember I had a passion for acting and an interest in film. It truly makes me the happiest guy on earth!
