Well . . . it's been a long time since I posted asking for help or a question in M&R, but I think I will  (once you cross over to teacher, it's hard to go back to being a student, I guess).

I just have had a couple thing happen to me and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what/why this is happening. I consider myself to be pretty in control of my energy so it's really quite shocking when this happens.

This year I'm finding that I don't handle heat very well. Early on, in the spring, I actually fainted from the heat several times. One day, at the supply store, I was carrying around three small citrines in my closed fist while I browsed. When I went to hand them to the woman to be bagged, they actually burned her hand. She didn't say much about it, but she jumped and gasped and dropped them and three red spots turned up quickly on her hand. I was a bit freaked and basically just apologized and left. I asked for some advice from friends (and some of you are here: Thanks again!) but I got lots of different ideas and they all focused on the fact that it was a stone.

Today it happened again. It's pretty hot today but it was cool inside where we were. I was holding a small 1/8 oz sized bottle of clove oil while I waited on my mom's prescription. When she went to pay, I handed the bottle to her and *sizzle* got her fingers. Of course, she checked me for a fever and then seemed to think the oil had burned her but as I pointed out to her, her hands don't smell like cloves and neither her hands nor the bottle have any oil on them. So now she's a bit freaked too. :geez:

The thing that's bothering is that it's happening completely outside of my will. I do know two people who can warm their hands intentionally, but I'm not doing that and I don't even feel anything and, there seems to me, to be a difference between warming your hands and heating up an object, especially since I don't get burned.

I really don't know why I'm posting about this, I just wondered if anyone had any new thoughts or suggestions or experiences to share that are related . . . maybe I'm just short-circuiting :wtf:

Mithrea this is just a guess...bu t that sounds an aweful lot like Reiki. From my limited experience I think its very common for a practitioner to channel Reiki energy and have very hot hands to others while their hands feel perfectly normal to themselves.

Just an idea...

Thank you for replying Toad :) Reiki has been mentioned as a possible source, however, I have also been told that I would feel it too if that's what it was. Someone did point out to me last night that citrine and clove are both purifiers. Citrine is a cleansing (the most powerful cleansing stone, perhaps) and clove is an antiseptic . . . I'm still not sure what exactly to do with that information though :)

Could also be some twinges from Kundalini stirring. This can cause some interesting albeit nasty effects. Heat is a common one of these, usually centered in the spine and/or chakras.

Armitage, sorry, since I don't know anything about Kundalini really, I don't understand your post :) Could you be more specific?

It could be something as simple as a need for grounding and centering, or perhaps one of your chakras may need a bit of tuneing,

in any case, its obvious this is an involuntary discharge of energy.

If you're doing a lot of energy work, it can poke at the usually-dormant Kundalini energy. It's stored at the base of the spine, and can be induced to rise to various degrees. It's Powerful as anything, and takes tons of training to handle properly. There's a whole branch of Yoga devoted to the awakening and proper channeling of this energy.

Here's a decent link on it: www.greatdreams.com/kunda.htm
