DREAM/TAROT - the Sun

OK, I was very good, I hopped straight out of bed this morning and jotted down what I could remember, much to the bemusement of my darling!!

Ok, here goes for my dream last night. It was all about being back in school doing A-levels (for those of you who aren’t in England, that’s the exams you take at 18). Now I have a lot of dreams about being back in school, and considering I left school 13 years ago (ouch! That hurts!) I find it a bit strange! So, I was in school, but it wasn’t my old school it was a different one. I had piles of books I had to study for exams, and I knew that the exams were only a few days away and I hadn’t opened even one of the books! This didn’t worry me though, I just was aware of it. I wasn’t interacting with anyone in this dream, I was just wandering around carrying my big pile of books watching people. There were two teachers, one obviously very traditional, in a suit and tie, having a discussion with another male teacher, much younger, with long hair and fairly scruffy. They were talking about new school procedures, and the school’s Quality Manual (!). The older teacher was trying to tell the younger one to wear his name tag, but the younger teacher was refusing to. The debate continued for what seemed like a long time, and although it got more intense, there didn’t seem to be any anger. And all the time the older teacher got more and more smart in his dress, and the younger teacher became more and more scruffy. At some point I picked up the younger teacher’s name tag which was really nice, made of copper. It had History Department written on it, and this teacher’s name (I don’t remember what it was!). I thought about wearing it, but then realised I couldn’t because it wasn’t my name. Then the younger teacher began stapling the holes in his socks together and I remember thinking his toenails were very long. And then the alarm went off!

Well like I mentioned on another thread, I forgot to put the sun under my pillow last night, I was so tired, and felt really ill that it slipped my mind, however I wont forget to put a card under my pillow tonight though! :)

Well as for your dream, I know nothing about dream interpation but I can tell you my associations to your dream, sort of related to the sun card. :)

Here it goes:

Well the sun often stands for leadership right? Perhaps the school could be associated with that, since leadership often is associated with authority and school too could be associated with authority. The books you carried might stand for projects you have, which in that case obviously doesn't trouble you that much (unless it felt like a heavy book pile you were carrying...).

The sun also stands for doors opening, could the A-levels be considered an opening ? A doorway to a new opportunity? That perhaps after you were done with it, it would mean a freedom of choice...

The men in your dream, the teacher, probably yourself there... representing two sides of yourself, perhaps one more traditional and one more modern... ?

The sun also stands for wisdom, which might be another explanation to your dream taking place in a school.

The name tag I am not so sure about, perhaps it could represent a new leadership, something new that you are about to take upon you, although you are not sure if you should take it upon you (since you did first think of taking it, and then didn't because it didn't have your name on it, which might also mean that you have been offered a leadership or something like that which you feel doesn't really belong to you, that perhaps someone else deserves it... ).

The relationship between the two teachers and the suncard in mind could suggest that the relationship is free of fear and powergames. The sun card in the aspect of relations speaks of just that... That relationships are sort of equal and free of powergames, without fears... :)

I had another baddie! because (bowing head in shame) I too forgot to put the Sun card under my pillow ~ wish I did now!
Last night was another hectic one but I was in a much better mood and had alot of fun... I had to do loads of things then a friend came over to work a Full Moon ritual together ~ we were supposed to head out to the woods but it was pouring down so we stayed at mine ~ the ritual went really well!! We didnt finish till 12.30 and I was quite drained from the energies in the ritual ~ so I headed to bed and totally forgot about the cards (sorry again). My head must of hit the pillow and I was out.. only soon to wake up jumpin out of bed!! because of another (much scarier dream...) & I know why!! I was talking to a friend about her fear of spiders earlier that night and she told me about a dream she had with spiders crawling out of her ears... so I dreamt about snakes crawling all over me and into my ears, mouth, eyes &!! It was really horiible and I literally jumped and ran to the other side of the room and even checked my bed!! lol! Im not afraid of snakes at all and think they are beautiful, intelligent creatures ~ I used to have one ~ which is now my sisters...Just another stress dream/ once in a full moon dream!!
Then the rest of the night was a bit of a struggle ~ I kept on waking up and not being able to sleep for ages ~ probally because Id allot of coffee earlier that night....
No worries Im over it now... It was really freaky though

Oh and I am so glad I wasn't the only one who forgot to put the card under my pillow... I actually slept real well this night, and rather deep, probably because I am not all well... Guess the Goddess thougth I should have a good nights sleep even though it was full moon and all... :)

Okay.....I remembered to put the card under my pillow....but my dreams were just too indistinquishable to comment on. It was like I was observing the dreams from far off....then *SNAP*, I was sitting in a hallway on a window ledge with lots of windows, the sun shining in. It was like I too, was back in High School...because I had tons of books....but the books all had to do with Tarot and other similiar occult persuits. I was just sitting there looking out the window facing the sun (looking up....but with eyes closed) just enjoying the feeling of the sun on my face. And then the Alarm went off scaring the crap out of me....!! Such a peaceful moment ruined by the daily grind. :( Oh well. Anyways, from this dream I would say I've gotten this: Contentment, success, clarity.


Okay. Since a couple of you forgot, do you want to do the sun card again tonight....or just move on to the next card?? :confused:

I just wanna write this before I forget and then I'll go back and read everyone else's. :)

The thing is, I placed the sun card under my pillow. Went to bed. Woke up around 6:00 AM, at which point I know I HAD dreams, but can't for the life of me remember them, cept for logging on to Mysticwicks and writing about my dreams. Anyways, when I awoke, it was to the feeling that they'd been really pleasant, and I really wished I could remember them. Anyway, at that point I took the Sun card out from under my pillow and put it on my dresser. Went back to sleep, and had two VERY disturbing dreams. In one my best friend's parents died, and in the other I was a complete failure at this job. I'm gonna include it all here, but be forewarned, it's a bit long-winded. :)

dreamed that april's* (*names changed) parents died. ran across the street with her. on the way, moom’s car was parked. i told her and she started talking about something, and I yelled that it wasn’t about her. Meanwhile, April was crying. She was on this weird village where her house was supposed to be, but I didn’t see it. It was like a giant roof. Before we found that out, I’d invited her over. But I wouldn’t leave the house or yard. Grandpa was there, and I asked him if it was okay if went outside or to get some ice cream or something. He said fine. During this, Grandma called asking where Granda was. I told her right there on the couch in her living room. I thought maybe we could go outside and look at the dry leaves. It was fall. There was a time when we just started playing Follow the Leader or Tag and we ran outside (it was her back driveway, btw)but then I ran back in and she knew that I didn’t want to go out. So we went back in and we were a little bored, I think. Anyway, then suddenly Diane and Mila from school were there and it seemed like we were sharing a house or something? And then I was sitting in a room and they wanted me to get out but I wouldn’t since it was my house too, and then all their sorority friends starting coming over so I left. That’s when I went looking for April again, and someone told me her parents had died.

Also, was working at a radio station. With James from Road Rules and Kameelah was their, and Harvery from Boston Public. There was garbage everywhere, and James was screaming at me to clean it up, so I was trying to, and in the process missed my cue and I was the only one so their was dead air for awhile. Then suddenly it was the HBO programming guide and it was movies we had to put on. I tried to put a new disc on and it didn’t fit and everything was messed. And then suddenly was this woman, I think –I think her kid I’d been mean to? I offered him somf popcorn and had to put it on the ground before he would take it. Anyway, this woman was extermely mad at me. When she saw me fumbling and all upset about the HBO programming, she softened a little, I think. Also, the boss was in a meeting room with everyone else and I had to interrupt to ask if Newsies was okay to put on the air, as it was still Family Programming time. He said yes. He was very haggard-looking, lots of white/grey hair and a beard the same color.

There was also a part where we were sitting down for a lunch or something and I was really mad at James, seeing as how his yelling made me mess up, but I took it out on Harvey, who got really upset, and I apologized, and he seemed ok, but then went to sit at another table with Kameelah. She wasked why he wasn’t sitting alone like he always did, and he said that this table was okay.

Ok, I know why I dreamed some parts. The kid and the popcorn thing was definitely because of the Tarot story here--Ethan being mean to Erica? and offering candy to make up for it? Anyway, the whole dream has meaning to me, but I think the weird part is why I can't remember any happy things from my Sun card dream, and why only after I removed it did I have bad dreams? :confused:

I sometimes find it easier to remember the bad/scarey dreams than the good ones too.

I felt the same way when I woke up this morning,...knew I had dreamt, but couldn't really remember it.....(the fogginess of the dream). <shrugs shoulders> oh well, for me....better luck tonight! ;)

Well, my dream was completely wierd. Not so much scary as confusing. I dreamed about a group of young boys...about 12 or 13 I guess who were fighting. I guess they had accidently killed someone and were stuffing the body into a bag. They had a younger boy with them about 5 or 6 and they were afraid they would get caught running if he was with them...so they stuffed him in the bag with the dead body and ran off..

I remember being upset that they would do that to the little boy but thats all I remember...as far as I can remember I wasn't really in the dream personally...just like watching it. I don't think I meditated on the card enough before bed.

Hmmm... the only dream I can remember from last night was about my very first boyfriend from gradeschool! There were a bunch of us at a party. I remember specifically my next older sister, who was in the same grade as Michael (the boyfriend) but none of the other people were really descript. Anyway, in my dream, I felt really pretty and confident. I remember my hair was really long and beautiful. Michael wanted to date me but was a little too shy to ask so he was trying to get my sister to ask me. I remember feeling happy about the fact that he was attracted to me. That's all I remember. Silly. :)
