What are some good herbal remedies for arthritic conditions? =)

Ooh... and rheumatory conditions also! Although, I enjoy the rheumatism of my family... it's more accurate than the weather man. ;)

Yes there are several. For rhuematoid or any other that involves inflamation try devils claw root. To ease some of the immediate pain you capsaicin (pepper) cream. You could also make your own ointment from peppers, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and menthol.

Eating things with tumeric like curry can also help. So can having epson salt baths. You can also go to health food stores and see if you can find InflamaGen which is what I've tried that and well Myalgia force. They are herbal blends containing if I remember right: tumeric, crondrotin, glucosamine, devils claw, and white gensing.

Oh and you can also use tiger blam or ask in the healthfood store or chinese herbalist for chinese plasters.(they are like tiger blam and come in various strenghts... they keep the stuff off your cloths and can be worn 24-48 hours at a time if need be)

If your wondering the types of arthritis I have:

polyarthropathy(all bones of my hands, feet, wrists and ankles are affected and it's degenerative), Fibromyalgia, calicfying bursitis of my shoulders and hips, degenerative disk disease with bone burs.(I also have microdisk in my lumbar spine but thats believed to be a birth defect) I used to have an anti-dna of +2 and other symptoms which suggested mixed connective tissue disease so had the label of mixed connective tissue disease not otherwise specified. Not sure if it was my dealing with things herbally or what but now my anti-dna has reverted to normal and effectively my label of MCTD-NOS is gone.

hmm... Sassafrass bark...
Celery seed extract acts as an anti-inflammatory....
For internal 10-day cleansing and to reduce inflammation, drink willow bark tea. Add 1 tsp. willow bark to 1 cup boiling water, steep for ten minutes in a tea-ball or loose, if loose strain after steeping, and drink unsweetened twice daily.

If I may....I have OA in both my knees and one of them is getting replaced in 2 weeks. I have found that Alfalfa is great as a tea, a infused bath, and also good with mint added. It sooths the joints and provides some relief.
