In another forum, there was a suggestion made that one can try reading for the world news in order to see how accurate your readings are. Has anyone tried this? I would love to hear your experiences with this.

I've done several readings like that. I just use my focus when reading as portents for the world at large. Some days I do this, I will focus more on in relation to myself and my kinfolk. <shrugs> But I've done a few for the world at large and it's come up with some interesting results.

I think the key is your focus, but that's just me. I've done it with a bunch of different spreads, though I haven't tried on some of the more specalized spreads <like love focused and such>. Maeby I'll experiment with that... could be interesting.

I don't know if that helps any. But... :)

hmm..it might be interesting. I usually just focus on what to expect in the next few days for myself. I must confess that for 2 or 3 days prior to 9/11, I kept getting the Tower in the near future. Believe me, I was dreading what it might mean, but I certainly never expected anything as dramatic or disruptive as what occured on that morning.

I've done some readings with a dear friend of mine, over quite a few world events. Not really to test or keep score on accuracy, but to help us develop our own understandings of what it going on in the world. I must say that I have never found it harder to repress my personal feelings on issues than with such readings. There is also such a broad, broad spectrum of events going on at any one time on such a busy little planet, that it makes it a little easier for people to chalk up their own accuracy levels. If that makes them feel better, that's fine by me, but not really what I would want to spend my time doing, trying to validate myself.

I agree with cydira, focus is a tremendous part of it and I've found it is very overwhelming emotionally sometimes, depending on the approaches to the readings that you take. You're talking about the world here, tremendous energy and I've always found that it's often easier to tap into negativity rather than positivity. Often, after doing these event readings, I find myself feeling quite humbled and a little helpless. But those are just my meager experiences. On a more positive note, there's a lot to inspire and learn from about the world as a whole when doing such large scale event readings. I'm just such so cynical that it takes a lot of work for me to pick those part out
