...to really get good at reading the cards. I have only starting learning and practicing Tarot a few weeks ago and I know I have a long road ahead. I guess everyone is different too, but I am curious how much time it took each of you to feel really confident and comforatable in your readings.
Just being nosy I guess!

Well, I have been studying tarot for years, and I don't feel all confident yet... However I stopped using my tarot cards for a while, thought it took too much of me to do the readings, but I can handle it better now, I did forgot some of its symbolism, and meanings during the time I didn't use them so I am partially learning all it all over again. :)
Anyways, most cards I feel very confident with, but it does happen that I draw a card that I like never draw, and I have to check in my books just to make sure I am not entirely offline with my reading and interpation of that card. It also happens sometimes that I draw blank, and then I either ask my cards for a "help card" or I look in my books to set me off in the right direction...
Blessed be

I feel confidence only comes after you've done a ton of readings. I feel comfortable with my cards, but every time I go to do a reading, I'm still worried I'll mess it up and be way off! lol The easiest way to read a card that you've forgetten the meaning of is to take a moment with the card, and "jump into it" ...imagine you are the person in the card and then ask yourself how you feel, what's going on....etc. Usually, you'll be fine then! ;)
I know I work better if I can communicate with the person while I'm doing the reading....you can ask them questions as you go along, just to re-assure yourself your reading down the right path. I feel the readings we do here are pretty difficult because you can't ask questions as you go....it's a hit or miss type thing....but I've only had one reading that was a miss.....and I've done tons of readings here! ;)
A good way to gain confidence also....would be: when you encounter a close friend, or relative you are comfortable with....do a free reading for them. Let them know you are learning and need the practice. Most the time they will let you read for them. I haven't been turned down yet. :D
