I need some divining!

I am considering (since I am done with my MA this semster) on applying to do an undergrad degree in BIO....

Should I be branching out, or redoubling my efforts in to persue my PhD in English?

Any advice is most appreciated!

Oki I drew a tarotcard for you and also a rune to see if what was to be said in the matter... Oki

first the tarotcard: I drew Queen of coins, she stands for water and earth, she is kind, calm, practical, has got a warm heart etc. She is mother earth. She shares with others what she's got and she is the protectress of the Arts. She takes good care of herself, she eats the things that are good for you, she spends her time in the garden... She is a good economic and she attracts money. This card tells us it is time for some practical work. Time to spend some time doing things for your own home, redecorate, cook etc. It is also a good time to invest money for the future.

Ok, that made no sense to me as to your question...
Let's see what the runes tells us...

I got "nödrunan" Naud. Naud stands for destiny, for what must be, for the past, present and the future. This is the Urd, Skuld and Verdandis rune, they rule over our destiny. Naud suggest that there might be something troubleing you, but still it is something you must go through. Naud encourages you to struggle on even though things might seem difficult. This is your destiny, what ever happens, happens because it is necessary for you to move on....

Oki that didn't tell me much either... hmm but perhaps it told you something, to me it just seems like the Naud rune is stateing the obvious... However this might make sense to you, but I'll do a more extensive reading for you in a couple of hours if you like, one where we really can focus on your question....

Okay....I did a quick decision spread for you using my new Scared Circle deck.

1-6 of Swords-"Solace" This is an Air suit. The card shows a small channel of water with the banks overflowing with vegitation. There are 6 gold swords on the card in an arrowhead fashion.

To me this is card shows that you are taking time to reflect and think things very carefully through. You are not only using reason, but looking within your heart as well.

2-King of Discs-"Earth" This card shows a barefoot king holding his disc/shield while sitting on the throne. There is a bird sitting at this feet. The sun is shining behind him across a beautiful green mountian scene.

This card is a card of practicality. It's the very epitemy of the earth element and all it represents.....being down to earth, calling the shots and being comfort with the crown of authority. Not only is this a card of practicality, it's one of prosperity.

3-2 of Wands-"Courage" This card shows a beautiful green hillside with an outline of a figure holding 2 straight lines (wands) embedded into the the hillside (like a crop circle).

I feel this card shows the courage to be creative and passionate about your ideas. You don't have your head in the clouds. I feel you have a broad playing field here for the imagination to take flight. Fire is the suit of passion and creativity. I think this card shows new and exciting places and options.

4-The hermit (Shaman)- The card shows a shaman sitting before a cauldron of sorts, over a fire and the magical steam/bubbly/stardust coming from the cauldron. It looks to me that he is holding a staff of sorts (can't tell if it's a staff or sword...assuming staff) and beating on a drum. There is a wolf standing behind him.

This is a card of introspection. Looking within to find who you are and where your path will lead you. Communicating with your higherself looking for a vision.

5-4 of Discs-"Materialism" This card shows the same channel used in the 6 of swords....but, it shows fours discs in an overlaping fashion.

This card shows me that you will need to conserve your resources. Greed, hording and the like. Trying to attain everything you long for.

Okay....summary: Bio- this pursuit will be filled with the challenges that come with bravery, but the king show you in control of all problems that may arise.

PhD- This pursuit may leave you a bit lonely and searching for fulfillment.....it may be leaving you with the need to fill a void. I think you may be wanting for finances along this path. I just feel this is a very lonely, "looking out for numero uno" type of path. (although I did think in the beginning this was the answer as the 1 card and the 5 card both use the same picture in the background) I just feel with this one...you will always be searching for something...no new surprises or excitement along the way as the other cards depict.

So....take what you will from the reading.....and make a call that you are most comfortable with.

....I think it's just crazy :crazy: that we both came up with a Pentacle Court card representing prosperity....and a seek type divination for the other! ...and we both couldn't see how it much applied to the question. I think there is definately something there! lol Wow....that should give Xois some insight! lol

It did indeed fill in some holes

I have to be especially careful...as a Gemini, I flit from one thing to another..I am actually suprised I made it to complete my MA...So I am being very careful that I am not just giong through a "phase" where I want something new and exciting (bio) to replace a bit of boredom with my present situation (Eng).

I am attracted to Bio for the hands on stuff...(like labs)

Well, I have much to consider!

I agree, very interesting and crazy(!), I got really surprised when I read your reading... :)

I did three different tarot readings for you, and none of them could tell you what to do, I got cards like wheel of fortune, suggesting that it was out of your hands, or that it was like a lottery, I got the lovers suggesting that you had to make a descision etc. I am not gonna tell you all the details cause there where no news to find there it would only bore you, I got like every card there is suggesting descisions having to be made...

However I gave my runes another try, I asked for two runes, one for Bio and one for English...

For bio: "Idegransrunan" Eoh or Iwarz. Stands for Yggdrasil, patience and growing. A process that takes time, the advice is to be patient in a process that takes time. Like a seed takes time to grow a full plant... This process may very well have something to do with your studies, but also for spiritual growth and understanding. This rune also stands for unselfish giving, like the tree who offers us her fruits.

For English: "Glädjerunan" Wynja or Wunju. Stands for luck, peace, joy and love. Represents your happiness without any restraints, an ability to feel joy even for the little things. Wynja tells you to live here and now. To enjoy what life can give you... This rune carries a creative energy, one that sets forth towards a positive and carefree thinking...

Gosh don't know how this could help you much either, however, it seems like the choice you are making is entirely up to you, and not one that your "greater destiny" will guide you in, it is all in your hands... as for the outcome of each choice... well I think that is for you to interpet and think about... Perhaps the runes in someway can guide you in your choice...
