I barely know this woman but liked her the first time I met her. Long story that some of you know about - she just became my supervisor last week. I know this sounds wierd because I've told you that I'm having problems with this job..........
Her job is very stressful and one problem has grown into many. Her 19 year old son in being charged with statutory rape and in the county she lives in, the sentence could be very harsh. He will also have to register as a sex offender which will affect his entire life. According to her, the girl making the accusations is a juvenile delinquent and has even broken into their house, and the sheriff in her county has refused to take action. Again, I don't know her well but somehow I know she's telling the truth and not just sticking up for him. She even admitted that he's always been a handful but that this whole thing is spiteful and bogus. This is Oklahoma where justice depends on who you know and how much money you have and who owes you a favor, etc.
In addition to the stress, she and her husband are having to sell things to pay for the legal fees, etc. On Thursday, she was visibly a wreck trying to handle everything and I'm really worried about her. Please send some positive energy their way. He goes to court on Monday.
