Arg. Arg. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Arg. With that said, let me move on. I apologize in advance for the pointless rambling about to ensue. :(
Ok. So I've been trying for weeks to get this certain program to work. I was finally convinced that the reason it wasn't was because of my having Windows ME installed instead of Windows 2000. Soooooo. I backed up some files and installed Windows 2000. That took maybe an hour and a half. Finally I got back on my computer. But oh, now my sound won't work, cause of course I need drivers to support it. Sooooo. Another two hours searching for and installing the "right" drivers. When everything STILL doesn't work, I finally call up Compaq, who informs me that there ARE no drivers to support my sound card with Windows ME.
So. I use my Quickrestore CD, lose all the things I'd RE-downloaded when I installed Windows 2000, and that takes another half hour or so. Finally my computer is relatively okay again. But oh, my internet connection isn't there, because I'm networked and my network card wasn't installed since I restored, and I don't know how to do it, so I had to wait til this morning, when my brother could do it. At the same time he installed that program I'd been wanting to use. And it worked, because the problem to begin with WASN't Windows, it was that the version I had was corrupt.
AAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!
Think it's a message from the Goddess that I need some time off from my computer? :(
