Am I the only psion on these boards? For reference, a psion is the same thing as a "psychic".
If you're a psion, please post here... or something.

The only time I've ever heard the word "psion" is in reference to D&D.
I don't claim to be pyschic, but let me just say to you. :welcome: to MW.

Psion comes from the word "psi" and means "a user of psi". It's a much more general term than "psychic", which is usually used to indicate a telepath. Don't know why.

Well Hello to you! Yes I am what quantum physicists like to call an Ultra Sensitive. I have studied this type of "blessing" for many years and like to think I have a sturdy grasp on it. My goal is to put it on the map for all those that need to see the "mathmatical" proof, well my goal is to win the nobel prize, but using this is how I am going to do it. I still have a long way to go, but on the other hand have made a few ground breaking discoveries. Would love to chat... =)

Any type. I'm looking for Hautes, Phoenixes, Psi-vampires, Banshees, Detonators.... the works. Born-ons, Partials, Nons... everyone with psionic abilities.
Greenman: It seems appropriate to do so, seeing as psionics is not technically a pagan thing. But it is. It';s one of those, it is, but it isn't things, I guess. :eyebro:
Whatever! Thanks for all the welcomes and stuff!

Would you be so kind as to enlighten us?
Would a psi-vampire be like an psychic energy sucker?

I apparently broadcast very well. But my receiving ability sucks. (The upside is that my shields are wonderful.)

I'm the other way around. :) I receive but I don't broadcast very well, except for a few rare times.
Would a psi-vampire be like an psychic energy sucker?
Pretty much. I only know that from other posts made by people here, though.
Aroo?
"Haute'(pronounced "HAW-tay"):
A term used to describe born-psis who are born-on specialities, and who have ALL psi abilities inborn at a low level. Also known as "Chosen Ones".
Non:
A psi genetics term for a person who was not born with psi abilities and traits. Nons can learn psionics. A Non who has developed psi abilities is referred to as a Developed Non. A Non who has not developed any psi abilities is referred to as "Non, Non-Active". Some nons are sensitive to psi-energy, but sensitivity is not considered by itself to be use of an ability.
Partial:
A psi genetics term for a person who was born with low-level psi abilities, and a few instincts to use them. Partials are the most common born-psis, and they have the least problems with development of all the born-psis
Phoenix:
Phoenix, or phoenix psychic, is a term used to refer to Generators. This is at present the oldest known term for Generators.
Generator:
A term used to describe born-psis who are born-on specialities, and who have a tremendous capacity and generation ability, as well as facility with other psi-energy abilities. Also known as "Phoenix Psychics", "Phoenixes", "Trex'ata", or "Energizers".
Banshee:
A term used to describe born-psis who have an unusual innate ability that causes them to emit a rising and falling psionic "scream" similar to a feedback squeal. This is apparently unconscious on their part.
Born-On:
A term used to describe born-psis who have inborn abilities functioning at a higher level than partials (see partials), and who have some instincts inborn to use those abilities. Born-on specialties are persons who have even higher level abilities inborn, and more instincts, and who also have a special ability or trait related to their birth-switch.
Psi-Vamp:
A term used to describe a type of born-on specialty who does not have a functional generation ability, but does have facility with energy working. Psi-vamps take psi-energy from other sources in order to use their abilities. They do not generate their own energy on a level beyond that of a non who is non-active, and sometimes even less. (See "Non"). This term used more loosely outside of the guild, as an alternative term for psychic vampires. However, the Guild makes a distinction between true Psi-Vamps, and psychic vampires (who may take any energy for any reason, and who do not neccessarily have inborn psi abilities).

I have known WingedWolf online for nearly 5 years now...I didn't realize her ideas on psi-abilities had coalesced to this level. She seems to have moved beyond the Otherkin community these days, but I guess it makes her happy to have her chapter house, or whatever it is.
I have too many of these labels on this page (http://www.thepsionguild.net/glossary.html) to list. :p
Diethe dhuit! :) You've certainly made for an interesting conversation.

Welcome!
I am an empath and have been all of my life - but still not that good at some parts of it - determining exactly where feelings are coming from, am good with telepathy, especially receiving, and am pretty accurate intuitively most of the time. I have no idea what, if anything this makes me though. I would have thought that most, if not all on this board are psychic (psion) or at least have some psychic abilities.

I've been told I'm an electrokinetic? I have issues with electrical devices. Though it does comes in handy when you have a dead battery and no jumper cables. I'm very good at broadcasting, but need to get better at recieving. This is all very interesting to me.

Yes, I'm glad I was directed to this forum, I too have been looking for psions here on MW. I sort-of died and lost most of my abilities, but I'm working at getting them back. =)

A) I'm a "psion" (sheesh, so many names just to say "psychic") so you can talk to me if you like. There are plenty of boards for psions (including one that I am making myself).
B) I'm the psychokinesis (telekinesis) teacher on these boards, hiya  . My class may not take in any more students currently but I am making a website that will have the classes and you can do individual study if you like. Just inform me.
