Self-Evocation?

Anyone ever try to evoke part of themselves, and a particular self-image, as if they were a specific Godform? The thought occurred to me, and it seems like an interesting way to defeat the difficulty in getting around the subconscious and the ego's self-defeating tendencies, but I also may be completely insane. :ahhhh:

I think that's what some people subconsciously do when they choose a God. Then they can focus on this Divine image that represents what they need to create in themselves, and give that God the power to help them, when they're really enabling that part of themselves without activating self-doubt.
