Okay everyone! For those who want to participate....I think Emerald had a great idea about throwing a Tarot Party although I think her party was an impromtu one!.
(this way you get practice in)
IDEA: You get a group of friends/family together, (in one place) and do short, small 3-7card layout Tarot readings (these last from 10-30 minutes approximately. ) You can be the host, or have a friend host it and supervise. and it's always nice to read the host for free. Friends and family can bring a friend, if you don't know many that would be interested. (let them recuit clients for you!) Offer a light snack/munchies and beverages for those waiting and chatting.
COST: The only forseeable cost is the food and beverages.
PAYMENT: You can choose to do free readings or charge between 5-15 dollars. (pending on the size of the spread and the average amount of time it takes you to read) You might want to require a certain amount of people to be present so you make decent $$ for the time you put in. ....example: require 10 people (excluding host) to attend the party, and charge say...$10/reading. There's a hundred dollars in your pocket for a day's work.
If you don't feel comfortable enough to charge yet, you don't have to. Let them know that you are learning and need the practice. Make sure you also tell them that you are reading only one possible outcome....decisions made along the way may alter the outcome also.
SCHEDULING: Readings should be planned at least 20 minutes apart.
THE READING: You should have a comfortable table to sit at and a nice cushy chair for you and the person you are reading for. (a card table works great!) Cover the Reading area with a laycloth, or a nice table cloth (IMHO the darker the better...it makes the cards stand out) Solid colors are better.... prints are usually distracting and take away from the reading. (Unless you have a special laycloth like I do, it has celestial items printed on it...moon and stars...but I still like to use a solid color, no design type cloth when I do many readings at a time.)
Give the querant a pen and the Tarot worksheet that can be found at here...

This way, they can write down the reading and anything else you may tell them. Plus it's just a nice momento and they can show friends! Just make sure after you print it off to put your name and phone number on it so they can contact you for future readings, or throwing a party themselves!
Have a supply of candles handy. I find it to be a very nice setting if you have 2 candles lit while reading, one on your left side and one on your right. (I prefer white candles, truth and purity of reading) but it's a matter of choice....what ever color helps set the mood and gets you to the state of mind you need to be in.
Between readings, get something to drink, and a little something to nibble on. This will help keep your energies where they need to be.
So, if you would like to do this, we would all love to hear how it goes!
If you have any questions, let me know! :D
