Here is how the situation sets up.
I don't want to sound like a wuss or an

Background (ask for more as needed)
My roommate is into the whole attempted photography of spirits and catching the little "light globes" on film.
We moved into the apartment in May of this year (the 28th to be precise)
Recently he got married and now she is staying there.
A few days ago, I was home alone, and the computer, in my room, started ejecting and retracting the cd tray. I had to actually remove all power to the machine, not just shut it down, to stop it. Later that day, I ended up taking a picture of my closet for some reason, and a black orb appeared in it.
The next day, my roommate and his wife were out on the porch, and someone (they initially thought) closed the blinds behind them. so his wife opened them up a little (after looking inside and seeing no one) and saw them shut. a shadow had passed over the blinds and no one was there. They went into the house, and there was a series of numbers on the tv screen, and they couldn't get anyway to get them off except for turning off the tv. When the took a shower later, they had left the shower curtain open a little, and his wife saw a black orb zoom up and fly away.
Now, all that I have ever heard (keep in mind, my expertise on this field is exactly NOT that) is that ghost normally show up as balls of light. Any ideas/ suggestions before I pull out some heavy stuff? (I'd rather have it leave than pulling out the tactical nuke so to speak.)

I'm not sure what you got there, but you got something. Have you tried to cleanse the house with sage? Or go full on with a full cleansing ritual. If that doesn't do the trick I don't know what will.

I did do a cleansing when I go thte apartment, but my worst case scenario is to rune-nuke it into a container vessel, but I REALLY DON"T want to do that.

Hummm,... any thoughts on trying to contact it with a Ouijui Board and see what intentions it/he/she has?

Haven't had the opportunity yet (finding a ouijui board in the bible belt isn't easy, lol) that and my room mate is very superstitious about things like ouijui boards... It's been mostly harrassing and annoying as of yet.

Just throwing some things out here, Maybe it's someone who has just recently passed and has some anger and confusion issues. Maybe just trying to get peoples attention?

Since the Ouijiu board will be a problem what about lighting some candles and just talking. Try to get them to move on in a Friendly way.

You said you'd already done the cleansing. Did you make sure a window was open? One of the Native American way's is to burn sage and cedar thoughout the place but make sure a window is open so they can leave peacefully.

Other than that,... don't know. Good luck with it. :-)

None of the residents who are at the apartment have had anyone close to them die recently, I don't think anyway, I would certainly prefer to have it move on it's way rather than doing what the other option is, (much less stress and strain on myself that way) I'm going to try another cleasing anyway, just to make sure I didn't miss any hiding places the first time. thank you for the well wishes.

Oh,.. and it might not be a bad idea to try and get some background on the appartment itself. Like did anything happen there?

I sent my room mate's wife to do that today. Another side note is that people have been moving out a lot recently there.

No trust me, you've actually made me think about having pity on it, rather than just imprisoning it for a long time. Thank YOU.

One way or another, in the worst case scenario, it gets taught a painful lesson, that the Quick (if it's just an angry soul) or the Mortals (if it's not formally human) are not to be trifled with, but I'd prefer to help the lost soul out first.

I had a friend who lived on sacred land and was always getting pictures of "ghosts" or spirits on her photgraphs. I hd a poltergist once who would hide my watch every night in a different place. I kept track of it by notig where I laid my watch down each night....sure enough every morning I had to go looking for it and always found it in the oddest place.....one time it was in the microwave.

Oh my Gosh! Too Wild. :)

I grew up in a haunted house and bizzare things happened all the time. We found out years later that a little boy had drowned in the creek behind our house. In later years I figured it was him and he was just trying to get attention.

However,... as to the black orb. I have to admit I've never heard of a black one. That's really different.

Well, the thing (or something else) has also been doing tiny stuff like that, but I'm not as annoyed at that kind of stuff, I expect it, being pagan and all that.

Wynd - Barring the cleansing, have you 'asked' whatever it is to move on? In my home when the occasional 'visitor' stops by I've found that while I'm cleaning the house out I've opened up the all the windows and actually told it to move on, that this is not their place. Good luck, I hope your apartment settles down!

I sort of skimmed this thread so if this has been asked just ignore it.....Has anyone brought an antique into the house or something second hand......sometimes Energy, spirits, or ghosts can attach to an object and manifest themselves at a new place.....

Excellent Question! I hadn't even thought of that. That's exactly why I tend to avoid buying antiques. :)

Well, actually, I got fed up with it last night, and gave it a few options. Leave within 3 days, and just leave, stay more than three days, and not be helpful, and be forced into a new residence, or, stay, and proove yourself helpful, and become a resident. I left for a few hours after that, and when I got back, One of my possessions that were missing for a long time had shown back up. So I guess it isn't a problem anymore, unless it's baiting me...

There hasn't been anything brought into the house of that caliber brought into the house, that I know of... but I can double check...

I didn't really, I think it only behaves when I am around, it still annoys everyone else, but they are moving anyway.

It's been mostly harrassing and annoying as of yet. I think I live more into the Bible Belt than you do and I can find Ouijui boards here! Toys R Us has them in the game boards section, Spencer Gifts has them, I think I've even seen them at Wal-Mart and KMart. Call me crazy, but I'd love to experince something like this! Well, nothing bad, just a glimpse of something here and there. With the exception of the apartment we're currently living in, my grandfather (dad's dad) used to visit us. I'd catch glimpses of him here and there. (He died the day after Christmas in 1985 of a heart attack) When my son was 4 or 5, he saw him also. He asked us, us being my parents and I, "Who is that man going into the bathroom?" He saw a man walking in my parents bedroom and then into the bathroom. We preceded to take out the family photos and let him look through them. Not sying anything to him, he pointed out my grandfather. Anyways....this has been the extent of my ghosts!!

Off my soapbox now! I hope you've shown your visiter who's boss and it leaves soon!!

Of course it did. They brought it with them. The photo taking of spirits can make them realize that they are in your reality. If they want to be noticed, they sure will hang around those that are trying to notice them.
People looking for these may attract "goblins":bat:
(for want of a better word) that are not desirable, and not just "poor lost souls.":ghostie: So anyone that's looking should be prepared for what they may find, and shield. Anyone not understanding "shielding" is taking a risk of having their lives torn upside down, not just their trinkets and houses...
I never understand why someone who believes in ghosts doesn't believe that there are good and bad in that realm just as there are in this one...:goodgrief Or why everyone seems to believe that "ghosts can't hurt you." :whatgives A being that can pull a blind cord can turn on a gas burner if it wishes...and if it prefers to just torment the mind with "little things" it can do that ad infinitum, with resultant mental anguish leading to disruption of relationships that can wreck a life.
Be careful out there!

Yeah, lol... I kind of ended up doing something not nice to them anyway (they were responsible for other things that have happened to me since, and this time, purely in the physical, economical realm) so they got a big helping of Directed Kharma (why wait until the next life when it can burn itself out now, and you can learn from it, right?) Well, to that extent the house has been ghost free for almost 10 months now, (been out to sea for a lot of the time between these posts), that's not to say the phooka and the boogins aren't in the house, but they are welcome. Honestly, I don't care what stays in my place as long as they do their share.
