The little witchystore I go to sells stones that have a thumprint shape carved into them to make them easier to use as a worry stone, you know, to rub when you are nervous or worried. Do any of you use them? I think it's kind of wierd. Have any of you ever changed the shape of a stone by rubbing it so much?

Yeppers I have a couple, i tend to worry alot lol. And some of mine have been worn down to almost the otherside of the stone. I helps me fall asleep at night sometimes if i have one of my worry stones with me.

I carry Aventurine with me sometimes, usually during tests. I keep a piece of Tiger's Eye in my car.

I have never purchased a worry stone. I have one I have had for about 25 years now. My Grandfather handed it to me one day before a piano recital. It was just a crick pebble about the size of a flat guinea egg. I have noticed that over the years the small cracks and chips have been worn away. I am a serious worrier!

Personally I don't have a Worry Stone, though I will buy one soon, hopefully. I use those Chinese Steel Balls that you swirl in your hands using your fingers. They chime when they strike eachother. They are a marble green with ying-yangs. They are also very special to me. =)

i don't have a worry stone as such, but i do have this fantastic silver pentacle necklace an ex gave me a few years ago; behind the pentacle is a disc of amythest that u can spin round - i think it's supposed to be a meditation aid - and i sit n fiddle with it when i'm stressed or worried ever since i first got into crystals and worked out that amythest is supposed to be a calming etc. (i need a lot of calming). i don't know where he bought it, but apparently u can get them with different stones as the disc.

I used to carry around this red piece of something (I don't know what it is) but I never really thought of it as a worry stone as such. But now I think about it, that's kind of what it was.

I was looking online on Azure Gree and I was wondering which kind of worry stone should I get? I worry all the time about many different things from financial to health matters. I was wondering if there was a kind of worry stone I should get? Maybe I need to get more than one.

OakFire, I have found moonstone worry stones to be very soothing and highly effective worry stones. You might try that :)

I have a variety of worrystones, although I don't use them often. Occaisionally I'll have a reason or an urge to pull one out, and then I use a smooth fluorite one I got at a local expo. I love the look and properties of fluorite, and it definately helps calm me down. The other worrystones I have are onyx marble, and they have more squared edges... they just don't feel right in my hand.

Does anyone know what this type of pentacle is called? It sounds interesting, but I'm having no luck finding anything on it...*is in the market for a new pentacle*

I used to have worry dolls too. I thought they were interesting. Though, I never knew what to do with them after I told them my worries.

You're supposed to tell your worries to your doll and ask it to help you. Then slip the doll under your pillow and go to sleep. The dolls are suposed to help you find the solution to your problem while you sleep. You can tell one problem to one doll per night. So, once your problem has been solved, you can tell it another problem.
The worry stones I've seen are not naturally that way with the thumb indentation. That's carved into the stones. The ones I've seen also have symbols or words carved into them. I thought about buying one but I still have my black stone my son gave me.

I love them. Have a really nice worry stone made out of bloodstone, it's tiny and the perfect size for me. :D
When I was a teenager I went through them pretty regularly...worried so much I would snap them in half!

When I look for a stone to be a worry stone, I look for a natural groove through at least one side following the curve of the stone . I like to be able to trace the lines of the stone... I'm not really partial to these commercial worry stones with the hollowed out groove.. they're too flat for me, if that makes any sense....:)

I normally carry 2 or 3 "pocket" rocks with me...it sort of depends on what "volunteers" when I get ready to leave in the morning. I have a round chrysocalla that I carry frequently, it seems to have a soothing affect on me. I also have a little egg shaped green jade that I carry frequently. When I start feeling stressed and a little frayed I'll roll the stones around in my fingers for a few minutes until I start to feel calmer and more collected.
