Wow am I nervous! I have a job interview at the local Dairy Queen on Thursday. I know what you're thinking, "DQ? You're having an interview to work at DQ and you're nervous!?" Well it's my first real, tax deducting job. So I need some help. What should I say, wear, bring along? Got any important tips for me? Any advice would be appreciated! ;)

You will do find just put your best energy forward and do not be shy!! This is a good starter job and you will meet lots of nice people!! and it never gets hot in there!! Best Wishes to you let us know how it turns out!!
Just be yourself and polite!! let them see your smile they like friendly people !! Do not dress dark!! just look like a normal kid !!
and do not bring up religion! I know this is probably wrong in some eyes but I have lost a good job over this subject and even though it was not fair it happens !! They just want clean cut sterio type !!

Congrats!!! First off I'd just like to say that if you can deal w/ 2 year olds, you're more than prepared for DQ. I have a 2 year old daughter so I know. LOL =). Some advice on interviews: 1) Be yourself. That's very important. 2) Maintain eye contact. 3)Don't be afraid to ask questions of your own. It shows that your interested. 4) Don't under-dress for your interview. But don't over do it, either. A nice pair of pants and a nice shirt will do. You want to be comfortable. And again be yourself.
As far as things to bring, I would recommend your i.d & ss card. Sometimes they hire on the spot and you want to be ready just in case.
Well, I hope this helps. I used to be in management, so I know what we look for. Merry meet & brightest blessings. Good Luck to you. Let me know how it goes!!!!!

Congrats on the interview! I'm sure that if you are your wonderful self, you'll do fine!
One thing that might be good to bring along (other than your fabulous self) is a simple one-page resume. You may think that you don't have enough to put on a resume, but even if you are a teenager (I don't know your age) chances are you have something to put on it to show your level of responsibility. You can put any past work experience (tax-deducting or not), extra-curricular activities, interests, etc.
If you want some resume advice, please feel free to pm me. I went through a big job search about a year ago, so I was sooooo sick of resumes by the end of it I couldn't get them out of my head!! :)
Be yourself, and good luck! And be sure you let us know how everything went, okay?

Interviews are my expertise...I conduct them for a living!
My suggestions are first and foremost remember no matter how down to earth the person who is interviewing you is...they are not your best frined so watch your language. I have seen many many young people slip up and use a swear word when I talk to them on their level and I always catch it.
Also if you have any special needs such as days off for doctor appts, etc...let them know as far in advance as possible, such as on the interview. That shows you have their scheduling needs on your priority list.
Wear business casual clothes such as a sweater and khakis and just relax. The fact that you are nervous shows you really want the job and will probably do well.
BEST OF LUCK!!! Let us know how you do!!

Speaking Astrologically, I have always found jobs during natal Sidereal Lunar Returns which place transiting Venus on the L.R. midheaven, from either one's birth, or residence location -without exception.

Whoa! Can you run that by me again in english? Astrology is not my strong point quite yet.

Look the interviewer in the eye. Don't grin like a crazy person. Shake hands when you meet them & use their name in the greeting. Thank them after by shaking hands. I have seen so many people come in for their interview so nervous, they can't stop grinning. Good luck & let us know how it went.

be friendly....ask questions...My first job was a Dairy Queen and the interview was a piece of cake...relax but don't be too relaxed....I agree with Wildchild, don't grin like an idiot...but smile...I've been hired for a few jobs before and they told me that it was because they loved my smile....just be yourself (unless of course your a vulgar type of person that is....) :) be prepaired...have those id cards with you, a pen isn't a bad idea either...write down any questions you can think of to ask...don't ask them right away...wait til they ask you if you have questions first...that way you know their done giving their information...I'm babbling now though....so that'll be enough outta me!!! :)

hmm.. i'm probably too late to give any advice *sniffles* and darn it.. I took classes on good interview skills when i was in high school...
firm handshakes and assertive/positive demeanor help and stuff. make sure they can consider you reliable by showing up to your interview slighly early if possible, but on time no matter what.
it's too late for me to actual make any more intelligent suggestions regarding interviews.... as i haven't had one in so long i've nearly forgotten the rest.. but lots of people gave great advice already! good luck (if it's not already too late by the time you read this ;) )

Artemis84. Sorry to have "snowed you under" with Astrological jargon. I have been thinking Astrologically for so many years, it is second nature to me. At the time one is born, the Moon occupies a specific place in the zodiac. Since the Moon orbits the earth in appx 28 days, this means the Moon passes that natal position at least once a month. When you cast a chart for the time and place when the Moon exactly returns to that same natal position , this is called in Sidereal Astrology, a "Lunar Return". The exact time of the return can be calculated using a standard Tropical (popular Astrology) emphemeris (a guide showing the planetary postitions every day), with the Synetic Vernal Point (SVP) given in it, at least once a month. The SVP is a continaully changing value( in degrees, minites, and seconds of arc) to convert the Tropical Zodiac into the Sidereal Zodiac. Now, if the planet Venus is also on the Midheaven of the chart, this is an excellent time to seek another job. I might add, that having Venus on the Midheaven of a Lunar Return does not happen very often. I hope this helps clear up the confusion.
