If your outdoors at night, Mars is gonna be nearest to Earth for, oh, a really long time. Saw it last night; thought it was Venus, in the wrong direction. It actually looked red. Look southeast (well if you're in the Northern Hemisphere. It was near Scorpio last night around 9:00 pm CDT).

It's raining tonight! I can't see it! :(
That would've been so cool to show my son. They visited the H.S. planetarium last friday, and he's become very interested in astronomy. He wants a telescope, but we told him he has to wait for it. Meanwhile, while we're out, my boyfriend (who LOVED astronomy class in H.S.) and I point out different things to him. Sighting Mars would've been very neat.

Yup, I saw it last night and tonight. Unfortunately, I don't have a telescope yet. :( But I did take a peek at it with my binoculars... it was better than the naked eye, but not much.

Don't remember how long it's gonna stay that way, but I'm sure it will be a week or two...
