Waaah! I just got my brand new deck a few weeks ago and now with using it, some of the cards are bent. How can I un-bend them or is this not really a problem as I use them more they all become bent? (psst.. I tend to be anal about certain stupid thing...)

I assume they are bent from shuffling? That isn't something to worry about. I "bridge" style shuffle mine, and they do tend to "bow" in the middle. I just feel that they have a comfortable-worn feeling to them.

If you are concerned about this and the long-run effects on your cards, just find another method of shuffling. I like the Bridge style as I feel it really mixes the up. ....but then again, so does the "go fish" method. ...or try to be gentle when doing the shuffling. I know sometimes I 'krinkle' the cards.....when I am distracted and mis-shuffle.

(If you watch much TV, and the Miss Cleo commercials, you will see just how worn her deck is. They aren't "Bent", but they are faded from where she's shuffled them Bridge-style. :D )

As long as the 'bent' hasn't become a 'crack' there is really nothing to worry about. I shuffle cards with a 'casino shuffle' where you riffle the ends together. If you pick up the cards and 'bow' them in the other direction when you are through, they should stay flat. Hey! In the casino the dealers shuffle 6-8 decks together this way, and they never bow because they put them immediately into the 'shoe' and they stay flat, so it can happen.

Thanks guy. I just looked around and found the post on different ways to shuffle. I'll try them and see what feel most comfy to me and my cards.

my cards started to peel apart, so now i shuffle via the "pool" method...i just make a pool of the cards and mush them around...

If the bend is bad, press them in a dictionary...
