This Runecharm is for "releasing of bonds" (might be a good one to know after using one of those love spells that have been bandied about lately. :D ).
You will need: a votive candle & holder; something that can be used to carve in the candle. For this working, a blue, white, or black candle will do nicely.
Cast your protective circle & invoke the Norse Gods/desses (see Practical Rune Magic I). Imagine the round candle as a circle. Thinking of the fetters (bonds) from which you wish to be released (or the negative energy you wish to release, etc), on the East side of the candle/circle, carve an Ansuz; on the South, a Fehu; on the West, an Ingaz; & on the North, an Uruz. Sing, chant, or speak the names of the Runes as you carve them.
*Not For The Squeamish!- place a drop of blood on each Rune.*
Set the candle in the holder, & place it on your altar, or wherever you plan to burn it. Be sure the Runes are to their respective directions. Light the candle, & let burn 'til it's gone (or will no longer burn).
This charm (as with the others in the series) can also be cut into wood (use"North is up"), & then burned, or worn, or carried (think "keychain").
Happy Runing
