A very good friend of mine recently came across this website, am sure some of you are familiar with it .. I just finished reading it and was soo inspired by this womans strength and how connected she was w/ nature and her body ~ I thought some of you might enjoy reading it :)

While this was a great story, and interesting to read about her birth, the whole thing was a little too long winded and "tree huggery" for me. It was a little too "fruity" and...oh, I don't know. I guess that even though I'm Pagan, a lot of things make me roll my eyes, and I see them as impractical. The boy's name alone made me roll my eyes.... I guess I'm just a closet cynic.

Well, i thought it was a lovely and heartwarming story.I never knew i was even pregnant till i went into labour and I was terrified when i was told. It wasn't a great experience. As well as having to deal with the pain of labour and the concentration needed to deal with the contractions. I also had to deal with the reality of it all, what I was going to do with my daughter once she was born and what i would do. Luckily i wasn't alone but even witha good friend there i felt totally lost and i was really scared. I had to make descisions on things i knew nothing about. The midwifes were all lovely and tried there best to help but I still felt i was unknown territory. I never imagined my first child would be born like that, and I feel like I was robbed of many things. The birth, the labour and the pregnancy weren't mine. I just had to go on what the midwives felt best. I wasn't in control not really. It will be something that will sadden me for the rest of my life. I love my daughter and it was one of the best days of my life but it will never be my day.
Sorry for ranting like this but reading that made me want to share some of my story.

I read this story years ago, before I ever found MysticWicks. It was when I was pregnant with my last baby and I wanted to labour outside after reading about her birth. I spent hours and hours in my hammock under my tree dreaming of labouring there and then when my labour began, I had absolutely no desire to lounge about on a hammock, I wanted to be up and about in my kitchen  I guess thats the place I am accustomed to doing my work.

Wow!! And she gave birth on her hands and knees... holy crap!! And did you see the birth of her second son? She pulled out her own baby!!
I had the most unnatural drug induced labor ever... uhm... that would be an unplanned and unprepared for c-section of course. I didn't even get to hold her for two or three hours, and when I finally did I really was too scared to and didn't want to because of the morphine. I had dreamed of that moment for 9 months and when it finally came it just wasn't picture perfect. Oh well... WAH for me! :crylaugh:
