I haven't been here that long, but I have met a bunch of really great people here.
I just had to say.. that now that I've become a moderator.. and I have begun to pay a lot more attention to each and every post in the forums that I moderate... I must say that I sense some animocity between some people whose names of course I won't mention.
Now people are different... and there will always be personality conflicts...
But I just wanted to say... that in my world, karma is a very real thing... and physical actions hold their consequences just as ELECTRONIC actions will hold them as well.
I'm not the person that started this wonderful place, and as I said, I certainly haven't been here the longest out of anyone... But I really wanted to say... that I think people should consider keeping their personal conflicts away from these forums.
I'm not speaking about having a conflicting opinion on a topic which is being discussed... I'm just concerned about this directly-indirect bashing/insulting/or simply just bring unrelated conflicts into a thread.
If you have a problem with someone, and you can't resolve it with that person... then why not reach out to a neutral third party to help arbitrate the situation. I would hate to see someone leave this community because someone pushed them away with some kind of personal vendetta.
I'm not naming names, and maybe this situation isn't even as serious as I've made it out to be, but I just wanted to let everyone know that this kind of behavior isn't very nice, and can really hurt. If you have a problem with a specific person, keep it off the boards. This is a public forum, and bringing your personal problems here will only complicate the problem. If you need to talk to someone, there are lots of people, including me, that I'm sure are more than willing to lend you a shoulder to cry on or a listening ear if you need to let some fustration out, but please don't let your personal conflicts push threads off topic. If someone is bothering you, don't be afraid to let one of the moderators know (we have a LOT of ways to get in contact with us.... PMs, IMs, e-mails... etc).
I hope I haven't pushed my tiny amount of semi-authority too far with this post, but I really want everyone here to be happy as I have been since i came here. I'm more than willing to give up part of my day to help everyone here, and all that I can ever ask in return is that some people might just stop and think about their actions and the possible reprocussions of those actions before unleashing a barrage of painful and deliberately hurtful comments into a thread.
