Merry Meet all!

I'm a 25 year old male secular pagan. I'm an atheist and philosophical naturalist, I don't believe in gods or anything supernatural. I am pagan in that I revere nature and try to attune myself to the cycles of the Earth.

I also debate on the Internet Infidels Discussion Boards and on Christian Forums. I stumbled upon these forums simply by typing "paganforums.org" on the address bar. I was delightfully suprised! :)

I take the literalist approach towards spirituality: what is put in front of us is a valid source of spirituality. The sun, moon, stars, trees, rivers and rocks are the gods and goddesses I worship.

Blessed be ye all. I chose the name "Heathen Dawn" because "heathen" is a term shared by both atheists and pagans and it has a wild nature tinge to it, and because the dawn, with its chorus, is the part of the day I love most.

Thanks all for the nice welcome! I'm so glad you tolerate atheists. :)

I live in Israel. I was born an atheist, and for most of my life I was an apathetic atheist. Then, in the years 1997-9, I was a fundamentalist monotheist - a religious Orthodox Jew. I did blindly as my rabbis told me, and I was also a young-earth creationist. Finally, in late 1999, I got fed up of the whole thing (especially as I learnt much more properly about evolution), and left monotheism. I came back to atheism, but I felt very empty spiritually (that was the void I was seeking to fill when I became a fundie). So I examined Wicca and other pagan religions. Seeing that I couldn't actually believe (I don't believe in spells, magick, gods or afterlife), I decided to blend paganism with my atheism. Thus I became a secular pagan.

I'm delighted to have found these boards. It's so refreshing to be with such a large group of joyful pagans!

Your veiw reminds me of my Dh...While he isn't especially pagan he is atheist and at the same time proud of his Jewish heritage.
