Mystic Wicks creation story?

I don't know anyone else, but I would love to hear about how MW came to be.

Mol, Semele, would you care to share? I hope you know that your dream is truly making so many people happy!

in the beginning darkness lay upon the land. a void, formless, without shape. then came mol and he saw the darkness and knew it was not good, so he grasped it and shaped it and molded it and light came upon the land and mystic wicks was begun.
and mol said "let worthy folk inhabit this creation" and it was so, and the mystic wicks grew and flourished and its days were long in the land and all who saw it said "behold, this is a good thing that mol hath made".
and it came to pass that many people came to mystic wicks and it prospered and was loved by those who knew it.

Ok...Well I make lots of handpoured candles and bath slats...yada!!yada!!! Anyway, Mol being the computer nerd that he is tells me I should sale some online because they are so expensive to buy and so easy and rewarding to make. So I said ok make me a site. So he started tinkering around and decided it would be cool to have a board where we could talk about making candles ...blah blah blah!!!

Basically it grew into much more than we thought it would and when it came right down to it we decided this was much more than a place to make an extra buck or two and in fact we agreed it would be wrong to include it here...to us. So we ducked the whole idea of peddling candles!!! Now it is this place you all know and love so well.

It grew so much that we had to find a better board...which meant more money. We went from having a small dream of making money to having a large dream of a community free of banners and ads...a pleasant place for ourselves and others to enjoy. I think we were successful...all of us. Now instead of getting a small check each month...we write one...well worth it I might ad!

So now you know the story of MW....and why it was called mystic WICKS!!! Kinda clever huh?? Well it would have been! Know that we will never let this turn into a profit site!! Darn the luck...as many hits as we get a day we could be rich from banners alone!!! But such is life. Choices are sometimes difficult but you know when you make a good one!!!

Well Semele, May I congratulate you both on turning a dream into a reality. I have found "home"(as Mol so kindy welcomes everyone with) :) and I am extremely proud to call you all family. I know that I can laugh, cry, rant and rave with all of you. I can find and provide love, support, sympathy, empathy, kinship,friendship, community,diversity and wholeness without threat of persecution. I have free flowing hugs, lemonade, jokes and laughs.
I can come here and learn all sorts of wonderful things about rituals, deity, music, herbs, crafts etc... and I can also learn from peoples love and friendship how to be a better person.
I can b*tch about politicians, how some of humanity is destroying the earth and my personal convictions about some of those topics and I know that it will not fall upon deaf ears. It is nice to have someone to listen to us about our grievances. We certainly know that some world leaders could not give a hoot.

Home provides safety and security. I call Mystic Wicks home.

Okay, now that I have gone all sappy and almost teary on you guys. I will end it there, but I really wanted to express my feelings about what MW is.
The door is always open, the porch is always full, the lemonade and conversation never ends.

Gosh! *blush* Thank all of you for your kind words of inspiration. Did you know that the word inspiration originally meant "filled with a holy breath", and derives from the same root as "spirit"? That is another cool point I stole frome my tarot bible...Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack. I just thought that was an interesting tidbit of info and it fits so well here. This place and all the members are truly an inspiration to me. Thank you all so much!

Now, who brought up that whole MW candle thingy??? Oh yeah Lilu....*water balloon winding up right now* :D Just kidding. The only thing is I would feel horrible charging anyone for a candle. Maybe I could just make some up and send them off as your official membership card!!! But the question is....what kind of candle??? My specialty is just basic ritual candles. Somehow that doesn't sound good enough. We need something a little more special. HHHMMMMM.....have to ponder this for a while.

Oh and Sherry, I will be expecting you here to help with the production of these things girl!!!

The only thing we would ask for is shipping costs....still not sure how to design this bugger though. Perhaps a nice little ritual candle can find its way with the MW candle and then we could all have a big night of candle magik. Just think of the energy that would be released there huh!?!?!

Oh and yes we can do scented....haven't mastered the art of having the scent come through in the burning process though.

Lazy I guess....or else I just can't bear to be away from here that long. LOL!! I just don't want this place to turn into a candle shop.

No problem. I am checking out some quotes for bumper stickers. That would be cool. If we can get a decent quote we will have some made up and send them out. Great advertisement!!! Good to hand out here in town too. I will let you guys know. Also a nice little ritual candle can still find it's way to you all with the bemper stickers!!

Bumper Stickers sound like fun! My Mum sent us a couple that were purple and glittery and said "Magick Happens" for Yule last year, they are great!

My hubby designed his own bumper sticker for fun one day, it's on his website, we have it printed out and taped up inside the back window of the car. It's cute!
