Just wondering if anyone out there knows of some good information resources on the Celtic Goddess Anu. I've also seen some conflicting information when I've looked it up before. Some stuff I find says Anu is the same as Danu while others say they are completely different. Any insight on this would be most helpful and appreciated. :)

The information I have on Anu is this:

"ANU (Irish) (also spelled Ana and Catana.) Is the virgin aspect of one of the Triple Goddesses of Ireland. Her mother aspect is Dana, or Danu, and her crone aspect is Badb.

She was known as a Goddess of prosperity and abundance, which suggests that her name was also associated with the mother aspect of this triplicity.

IN Magick and Ritual- Call on Anu for fertility magick.
Correspondences- The waxing moon, emeralds, blood, moonstones."

Then for Dana-
"Also written as Danu the dative form of the name. She was the first great mother Goddess of Ireland, who was later renamed/absorbed by Brigid. Some scholars believe she is the most ancient of the Celtic deites of whom we have extant knowledge. The root "dan" in Old Irish means "knowledge," an important insight into her archetypal traits.
Today Dana's tri-form usually assigns her the name Danu, the virgin aspect of the Triple Goddess with Brigd as mother and Badb as crone. Later folktales also tell us that she is the daughter of Beltene, rather than his mother or consort.

Many Celtic Pagans still view her as the sovereign, singular, great mother who birthed all things into being.

She is equated with Don, the first mother Goddess of Wales.
In magick and ritual-Dana's very powerful presence can aid you in achieving anything you desire. She is especially strong in her association to motherhood, fire, crafting, fertility, manifestation magick, the healing of children, inspiration of self, sovereignty, and other creative endeavors.
Correspondences- Empress Tarot card, amber, blood, holey stones."

Thats what I have from my "Celtic Myth and Magick" Book....
All though it is confusing :wtf: ....but hope it helps some....
Blessed Be

Here's an old thread discussing Danu. The thread is really intersting since it connects Danu to the goddess Damnu.

I thought that Danu and Anu were same, same but different. lol. However, I just looked up Anu on www.pantheon.org and it says that Anu is often confused with Danu. Now, my head is in a bit of confusion.

Yup, that's what confused me while I was trying to do research on it.
