so last Saturday night was the 5th anniversary of our magickal garden (http://www.geocities.com/stonethimble/webstore-Pete/Overhead.jpg). we have a party every year to celebrate, and this year was no exception.
the main group has drifted apart somewhat, but we still make wonderful magick when the feeling is right. and this year was particularly cool.
the ritual this year was in the hands of the drummers, and they did not disappoint.
the whole ritual was done in music!
the quarters were caled with instruments... gong in the East, drums in the South, rain stick in the West, and didgeridoo in the North. there were also related instruments laying in the beds of all the quarters.
Kokopelli was invoked, as were 'all the Goddesses of music and dance', and people were invited to pick up whatever they found in front of them and just 'jam' to bring in Spirit through rythym.
now, this might have been disasterous, but it worked really well! we had a great time, and the music was very interesting.
the idea for this had been bouncing around for along time, and i'm very glad it finally came to fruition.
anyway, i just wanted to share the experience, and to say that tradition is really great, but inspiration must not be denied.
music can be divine too!
