Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, I find out that if I declare bankruptcy (which I can't afford anyway), it will end up hurting two people I care dearly for and who have helped me out. I can't of course do that, so now I'm looking at being sued for debts and possibly being garnished. I just can't lose any more. There's hardly anything left TO lose. Please light your candles for us.

I have found that in order to get assistance from a financial counselor, I have to have income. It appears that after today, I will have no income at all.

As I said in my PM, you ought to be entitled to unemployment. That is a source of income as well as a way of getting help (however meager) in finding a new job.
