The Archangels in Magick

Some people work with
Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel
Others (such as myself) have worked with:
Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Ariel

In people's experience are Ariel and Uriel the same? Or different beings altogether, or perhaps a separation of the same entity?

I feel a distinct difference between the energies of them both.

While I believe angels to be asexual they have a distinct energy when I work with them. Michael is distinctly a male energy with me, Gabriel is feminine, Ariel is feminine, Uriel masculine (though I have only felt him once), and Raphael seems to change between the two depending often on my focus of the work I am asking him to assist in.

Has anyone had any experiences like this?

Hmm. In my limited experience I have found Uriel and Auriel to be the same angel.

As I mentioned in the other thread, it seems that there are some angels that are either on both sides, or share a name with an "evil twin", so to speak. Some seem to fill roles in both camps. And wthout meaning to nitpick, I think Uriel, Ariel, & Auriel are the names of distinctly different entities.

I really have a lot more personal experience with Valkyries.

IMHO Angels are without gender inherently, and you basically feel them as whatever gender feels most comfortable. These are higher, spiritual beings so who knows if they have such limitations on them as gender? So if you think Gabriel is male, he is, if you don't, she's not. :)

As far as I know, Uriel and Ariel are the same.

I only worked with angels for about 6 months when I was living in a Christian household.

Ok, the book that I've referenced in the threads re: archangels & demons is 'Angels A to Z'. I've seen it in our local public library; if you're interested, check there before you look in a book store. It references just about every angel-type being (and a lot that the connection is tenuous, at best) imaginable. There's all the usual stuff, & a lot of really obscure info, too.
