Since the e-mail newsletter was encouraging introductions, I thought I would finally introduce myself after lurking for a while.
I'm Teleri. I am the coordinator/facilitator/gatekeeper of Sisters of the Silver Branch (http://www.silver-branch.org/), a women's ritual and study group that meets in Northern Virginia. SSB is a pretty eclectic group that still manages to find common ground.
I started out as an eclectic Wiccan in 1973, but have been influenced by a number of other paths since then. I guess I now consider myself a Celtic-based or Celtic-inspired neo-Pagan. I weave together some Celtic Reconstructionist ideas with the Arthurian Mysteries and the Western Mystery Traditions I worked with in my earlier practice. I am currently working my way through the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids Bardic grade training course, so I'm also a member of OBOD. I would describe myself as a monist, a polytheist in practice but theoretically a (pluriform) panentheist. Isn't that a lot of big words? LOL!
My other-than-spiritual interested includes 15th-17th century European history, Celtic archaeology, literature, myth and legends and Arthuriana -- from an academic viewpoint, historical clothing, the Society for Creative Anachronism (Teleri is my SCA name), reading in general, reading mystery novels (my favorite mind candy), creating computer-aided art and design, canoeing and hiking.
Blessings,
Teleri
