Spells that are already out there are guidelines dear. Write your own. ;)

Nothing is needed for Magick, no candles or herbs, they are focal points. Some people like to use them, but they are not necessary.

With Casting a Circle, you are creating sacred space. You may not make it physically, but visualize it. Its always a good idea to cast the circle.

and do i have to always cast the circle before i do a spell???

Do you have to? No. Is it a wise idea? Absolutely, especially if you're just starting out. The circle carries out some useful functions

..it acts to contain energy until you release it so you can build it up and send it while focusing on your goal
..it serves as a sacred space from which you've removed energies that aren't conducive to your magic out - in other words, it's a "clean" place to do your work
..it keeps energies you don't want in your circle out.

Also note, circle casting is one of the easiest magical things to learn and helps you to work on manipulating energy as well as sensing it. It also reinforces your studies as you consider how to cast it. The circle acts a place that is not a place and as a microcosm in the macrocosm - in other words, by creating a circle you've open space between the worlds, what you create within circle will echo in the universe. By using a circle you recognize the belief that "as above, so below" - in other words, you say "what I do in this little circle will happen in the outside world". Finally, if you plan to ask the Gods for help using a circle is like cleaning up your house and providing a comfortable place for guests to sit.

There are many, many people who don't cast circle, but there are also many good reasons to do so.

Circle casting is generally a good idea...but I must admit, I never do it.

Why not? I have my room in which my working altar and various altars/shrines to deities are erected (only my bedroom--since I just recently moved back in with my parents). I cleanse the hell out my room on a regular basis (usually every three days or when I feel it needs it)--my room is a permanent "sacred space", so I rarely feel the need to cast a Circle if doing a small working.

If it's something far more difficult, yes, I cast a Circle.
