:p Really cool site!!
hmmm...trying to decide between the Lovers and the High Priestess!! They look really beauitfull!!
Idea crafty time ....we could rip this off and make them oursleves!.. Just photo copy your fav card (black and white or colour) onto a thin sheet of plain or coloured paper and stick it on! Havent done this before so not really sure if the paper will burn with the candle? Does anyone here know?
But hey its worth a try! and if your just going to use them for decoration they will be perfect!

I don't know Silver. I would think the paper would burn with the candle, releasing the energy of the card as it burns.
I would love to make something like this, but I haven't tried my hand at making candles yet. I do intend to rectify that soon though. :D

Hi Dagda,
MystyPines replied to our question ~ "About the Tarot Candles, I also have purchased that brand, I have the "Strength" candle, but you should remove any wrapper around it, and also the bottom caution label before burning any candle. I also have purchased candles that place herbs in them, and sometimes they can be quite dangerous, they burn incorrectly and I have had the whole candle catch on fire."
:)
& so did Yvonne Thomas with helpfull tips! ~
"For the cards you use the same tecnique as placing dried flowers or cinnamon sticks or regular sticks ect.... paint the area on the candle to apply decoration with melted wax quickly place item and hold it in place. You will then paint over it if it's something thin like paper or dried flowers with more melted wax. If you have ever done decopage you have the basics. In effect you are using melted wax instead of glue. thin paper is best on a thin candle if you wish to use an actual card use a thicker candle.
I have been told that it is basicly the same to put a decal on soap but with melted soap. You have to ask Wildchild that one."
Thats so brilliant how you can stick the paper on with wax! I've got a big purple pillar candle that I havent used yet and would be perfect for the Star card so I'm going to give it a go this weekend!!

Hmmm.....
MistyPines said it could get pretty dangerous if you wanted to burn the candle and didn't remove the paper. (I'm usually one to heed warnings :) )
hmm......putting on my thinking hat...... :apirate:
What I am thinking about doing to a new candle, would be to unwrap it (all the one's I get are wrapped in a celophane eype wrap) ....and give a shot at my drawing techniques. What I mean to say, it to take one of those "orange sticks" (they are the little wooden type you would use to do your nails.....push back the cuticle) and actually card the design into the side of the candle. Now, my artistic talents aren't all that, but like for the world card, I think I could do a decent job of carving a picture of the 'globe' into the candle and then writing the name under the picture. For the star card, I would draw 7 stars (as are usually present on the Star card) and then write the word 'Star" at the base of the candle.
Then, I would hold the candle and try to send the type of energy the card suggests into the candle itself. That way when the candle burns, it is releasing the energy that I have put into the candle that represented the card.
Did I lose you? :) I hope that made sense and I got my idea across okay. :P What do you think? Would it work?

Yeah thats a brilliant idea!! :D You could also do it with a needle or your Athame.
Im not sure if Mysty meant the plastic cellophane wrapper ~ which protects the candle before you use it or the actually card image paper itself... I think she meant the wrapper otherwise it would be really dangerous.
My star cards have 8 stars on them ~ but yeah I always remember them as 7 to!! I always think of the seven plants and the seven chakras so maybe you could bring this into your meditation too while charging the star ~ opening up each chakra or thinking about each planet and the aspects of each :)

I got the following for the stars from the below site..
"7 stars surround a larger star with 8 points
In the sky the mysterious stars of the traditional Tarot are clearly named as the 7 planets of the ancients (which include the sun and the moon) associated with the seven metals of alchemy. With Sophia/Aphrodite's help, the spirit or astral (star) body is able to clime them like a ladder (as in the mystic visions of the Gnostic's and Hermeticists'). At the top is the 8 pointed star which symbolizes the eighth sphere of the fixed constellations. They are unaffected by the four elements because they are composed of a fifth element, ether. This ethereal realm is the "horos" (boundary) to the "pleroma" (fullness) of heaven. Other cards will depict what happens there. "
