We were at the grocery store and were finishing up so my husband went do get some cheese from the deli and I went to get in line, I didn't really have to because it was dead but I wanted to get the kids home. So my hubby is wearing his necklace with a stag on it and the guy behind the counter tells strikes up a conversation with him and takes a medallion out and says its a symbol of Odin. OK so here's the wierd part, he says the Irish were Odinists?!? And they are pagan. OK I may be kinda new but that sounds nutters! So my husband is talking to him and I'm waving at him from the line and he tells him have you been to the local Pagan Community center, and the guy says something and my husband says "no thats not it" and this lady who was behind the counter says yeah I've been there a few times. Its like so wierd because we haven't met that many people out where we live that are Pagan or accepting and my husband finds 2 when he can't stay and talk. That always happens to him. When we were leaving Louisianna, he found out about 2 other Pagans at his going away. Lifes wierd  I hope at least that this guy won't be mislead and will find good people. It was probably meant to happen.

Well... I don't know about the Irish being Odinists, :D ...but there's a pretty good sized Asatru community in the DFW Metroplex, & there's a large Pagan-in-General community there, as well. Check out a place called Betwixt 'n' Between. It's supposed to be the "hotbed" of the Pagan activity in North Texas.

Ya know, my Viking Ancestors carried off everything of value from Ireland, except the rocks....

...come to think of it, they carried off many of them, too. :bad: :p :bigredgri 8O

Hey Rick - your ancestors left some pretty cool artifacts in North Georgia. Just saw some of it recently. Wonderful altar stone - cool carvings - all in a field in the middle of no where!!!

It is the Pagan Place to be in North Texas! Since you are so close you should get on thier mailing list. They've been booking alot of bands for Sat night and they have some crazy parties. Unfortunately I haven't been to the parties cuz of the kids. :( Oh the trials of being a parent. *sigh*. Anyways they are great welcomeing people kinda like this board but physical.

Its funny how you out in OKC have heard of it but not someone who lives in the Metroplex. Life's odd that way. :)

Doesn't look good , finances and time. It looks pretty solid this summer. Its really a shame since we live only 3 hrs away. :(

Ya know... I went to Dallas once to go to Six Flags. Stopped about 5 or 6 places. Nobody could tell me how to get there. Got lost, wound up in "Foat Wuth", first guy I asked gave me directions. Kinda karmic, or something...

Well, just drive up for the day. Ya know we can't gather without holding some kinda circle; when we finalize plans, just come up for that, if that's all you can do. At $25+tax, I may not go to Frontier City (unless a really good classic rock band is performing there that night), but I will be sure to get with everyone for circle & a meal.

That was your first mistake, asking for directions. You should have gotten a map. You see no one is "from" DFW they all relocate here from other places therefore hardly anyone knows where anything is at. I could only tell you its in Arlington but i can tell you anyplace you want to go in Houston. I do know how to get to B&B though. It near Fair Park.

Maybe its still kinda up in the air since some of my plans aren't totally final. we'll see. :)
