dose anyone know what the whight and black striped tiger is for because I see it in my dreems all the time and I was wondering what it ment I think it is saposed to be my animle guide, but I am not shure.

Well I let my friend borrow both my animal books. I use to have a white tiger come to me also. He was my gaurdian animal. He was my protector. Other than that I have nothing. Why don't you try meditation and ask it.

Thanks for the links, I've always been drawn to Tigers, but lately I've been drawn away from them as a primary symbol of mine and more towards the moon, and now I find out that Tigers and the moon are connected....wow

Man I hate to do this... it always feels like such a cop-out to recommend a book. *Sigh.* All well.

Look for, and skim the bookstore ;), Animal Magick, by DJ Conway. Its a well-written book with some good advice and ideas on working with guides/familiars/blah. DJ also provides a sort of animal/spirit encyclopedia in the back, with common associations and meanings, deities they've been tied to, myths and legends about the animal, etc.

She does have a handful of sample ceremonies for communing with animal spirits, in a shamanistic style that's pretty easy to draw from. :)

There are five mythic tigers in Chinese lore. The red tiger is a symbol of the south, summer, and fire. The black tiger is a symbol of the north, winter, and water. The blue tiger is a symbol of the east, spring, and vegetation. The white tiger is a symbol of the west, autumn, and all metals. The yellow tiger is supreme among all five. It is the ruler of the Earth and all energies upon it.

I had a dream once where all five of these tigers came to me and were talking to me!
Well the colors of them were slightly different but still...........:hairraise
