His girlfriend had to go to college 100 miles away this semester because she wants to be a vet and OSU is the only college that offers the curriculum - they've been together since they were 14, six years, and they're both miserable. He's got tons of friends but he's very lonely and it's showing. He's been calling just to say hello and find out when I'll be by.
He called to share some good news this afternoon, and I know that it's partly because his girlfriend is not here to share his glory - they've always shared everything. He turned down two football scholarships to small colleges to join the Air National Guard and because he didn't think he was big enough to play college ball. He also didn't expect to come back from BMT 35 pounds heavier. He recently found out about a semi-professional team and they had their first practice today. He's really excited - but I've seen those college and pro hits on the field and they're scary!
Please send comforting energy for his lonely little heart and protective energy for his safety both on the football field and as he serves in the military. Also please send energy to his lady, who thought she wanted out of this small town and is miserable away from home. I never thought that she'd be the type to get up at 6 am to walk dogs and clean up pee, but she did when she got a job at a local animal hospital. She's awesome with cats and dogs and I know she's going to be an awesome veterinarian.
