Coincidence?

Normally I don't discuss our practices, but this was a rather interesting one.
We started at about 10:00 pm, after the kids are in bed so we won't be bothered.
Last night as my wife and I were casting our circle for the full moon. We did the usual things, like, symbols of the elements, etc.
Something was different this time, the amount of energy coming in was incredible!!
It was so strong I was starting to sweat! Well our cat decided to get in as usual, but he was acting different as well. He decided to sit in the SouthWest edge of our circle. Normally he sits with us or close by, but always to the North.
Well we finished our ritual, and I decided to go outside for a smoke.
Without thinking about it I go looking at the moon, which was very easy for me to see last night.
The full moon was in the SouthWest sky for us last night.
I'm not sure what to make of all this, but I am looking in to what else was going on that we weren't aware of. I mean I have never felt levels of energy this strong in our circle.

What do you guys think?

Suggestion - you don't mention how new you are to Paganism or magic. Have you thought that maybe there wasn't more energy but instead you were more open to it then usual?

I can't say that I have any suggestion's as to "why", but I can say that I too felt a ton of energy flowing through me yesterday. Not just last night, but all day. I remember posting about how giddy I was all day in my journal yesterday afternoon.

I didn't have a ritual planned out for this full moon, as I usually do. I just went outside and sat and moon gazed and talked to the Lady for a bit. Pretty much just took in Her energy.

I myself, have been on my path for 13 years now, so I know it's not having anything to do with being more open to the Moon's energy, It was just a very strange but wonderful feeling this time around.

Ah, it's Sept 11th. That's probably why. There's a lot of praying and healing energy being focused right now and in the past couple days. Everyone is more sensitive psychicly and projecting more energy and emotions. *shrugs*

You know, that must be it. The cat still makes me wonder though. Hmmmm, he probably got some of that energy too.

Cats are pretty sensitive to energy. That's why they are very common familiars.

I find that they are more sensitive in my experience, but that may only be me. If something's going on in my house in terms of energy the dog's not liable to notice, both cats are (my familiar is particularly sensitive - say I cast circle even outside, he will notice. the other cat is also somewhat sensitive - if she's upstairs when I cast circle in my office, for example, she would notice, but if there's a distance between us she might not [or maybe she just doesn't care, I'm not sure ;)])
