seances and the spirit world

me and my friend maggie want to contact the spirit world. lately, we both have been having strange experiences, spirits i think have been playing games with us. nothing serious for me, just 2 of them had fun moving around, sitting next to me, following me around the house, moving things so i'd hear a noise..etc. i havent seen them, just..i felt them, like their energy. maggie on the other hand, had a dream with this spirit who was trying to kill her (she says). we both know that spirits cant harm us, and maggie said it out loud to the unseen spirit. then..she told me she felt liek a voice inside her head almost saying "maybe not..but i can make you hurt yourself." i'm not so sure whats going on, that spirit doesnt seem very..nice. anyways, we want to somehow contact them in a more formal (and working) way. deffinately NOT by the oujia, bad experiences there, and plus..its not a place where dignified high level on thinking spirits would linger. well..if theres any good ways of rituals/spells/seances, i'd would be EXTREMELY grateful. thank you for any help you may lend us.

P.S. I have looked around, i've heard you shouldnt conduct a seance with less than 3 people. is that true, and if you did, what would happen?

My Husband was having this problem once with a spirit "whispering" in his ear every night. He tried to be nice, asking it what it wanted, it would answer the same statement everytime which didn't make sense, and got nastier and louder each time. He finally while in bed visualized a protective circle while asking his deities to kindly place this troubled soul where it should be. The voice went from his ear to outside the circle and couldn't get back in. Then it seemed to trail off and it never came back.
Maybe something similar would help you? Hope this helps
