Merry Meet All,
I have been asked to help a friends brother heal an addiction he is ready to be rid of. My friend has asked for a talisman of some sort. Does anyone have any ideas they would like to share with me?
Blessed Be!

There are several threads in this forum if you'll do a search that don't appear in the list of "similar threads" at the bottom of the page - deja vu, seems like I've already said that tonight..............

And you might try this one as well:

Hello and welcome.
I think a talisman to aid in ending an addiction would have two aspects to it: Healing and Courage. So I would make an amulet with references to a God/ess of Healing on one side and a God/ess of Courage on the other.
These are some of the Gods/Goddesses in the Roman tradition, use whatever is comfortable for you.

Courage
Minerva
Hercules

Healing
Venus
Aesculapius

If you want a more natural feel, here are some herbs you could incorporate. (Thanks to Scott Cunningham, of course.)

Courage
Cedar
Musk
Rose Geranium

Healing
Carnation
Eucalyptus
Gardenia
Lotus
Myrrh
Narcissus
Rosemary
Sandalwood
Violet

Thank you so much for your reply. I did come up with a mojo bag. I cast a circle, called the quarters and we did a ritual crossing out the name of his addiction and burnt it. Let me tell you, it burnt along with the wax from a green votive on salt for a long time. It definitely didn't want to let go. Then I also had a small black taper with his name and 3 amethyst stones inserted and his addiction on the other side crossed out. We cleansed Clear Quartz (mother of all quartz crystals), Smokey Quartz and Hematite then placed them in a black, blue lined bag. My subject was very accepting and hopeful. The remnants of the wax, addiction ash & salt were buried far away from him. He will be entering a recovery program very soon. Any feedback on this I will gladly accept.

That sounds very complete. Best wishes and healing energies for your friend.
