Kyanite

A beautiful blue stone that is hard to find out about. I had posted about a stone i had, and wanted it identified, and after looking at some people's suggestions, i stumbled over Kyanite. Well, lo and behold, that is what my pendant is! Hereare a couple of pics, and i found a little about the properties and meanings of the stone, but i would like if anyone else has one, knows about it, etc.

Mohs Scale: 4-7
Element: Air, Earth

well, it did, but to tell you the truth, since i have been wearing it, i could have told you that just by the difference in my mood and attitude. I definitely thing everyone should have one of these! it would help with the violence problems so many people have...


By the way... where did you get that info? if it's out of a book, what is it, and who by?

I gathered alot of information from books and online over the years and put it in a word file. At the time I didn't keep track of the sources so unfortunately I don't remember where it came from.

I have a blue tumbled kyanite and I love it! The blue colour reminds me of sapphire, I notice that I feel happier when I wear it, more at ease.

i agree on the chakra info but not on the cleansing

I dont understand where the misconception comes from that some stones need no cleansing

i heard that been said about diamond as well as celestite or tourmaline.

well my experience with any stones (including all the above) is that they all need cleansing, and that it is possible to drain any stone if the need is high

just out of respect:
cleanse and recharge your stones, regardless of what some stone books claim


as for what it is good for
linked to the finding of identity - the accomplishing of a life time goal
helps to take actions necessary even in trying times
enhances forceful action, and deep thought
good stone for motorical body functions
eases sore throats

excellent 3rd eye stone,
excellent for meditations, astral projections. spiritual work, spiritual traveling etc

Most everything has been said...just thought I would post a picture of a natural specimen on a matrix of quartz. Came across this just last year. As some of you may be realising...I truely love minerals in thier natural form.

I agree with what Czech said.Wolfsong that's a nice piece. I think the largest piece of blue and white Kyanite i saw was about a foot and a half long. How big is that one.
And Epona that piece is excellent. I love black kyanite a little better.
Wolfsong do you have any green kyanite?

Only bout 3.5 inches. I was the only good specimen I could find that was still in matrix and natural. Which is what I was looking for.

Kyanite is a beautiful stone, I use it to make pendants. The one I made for myself is one of my favorite pendants.

Light dragon.. The green kyanite are the ovals.. the light is not so good to really show off teh color with is a kind of greenish-blue
