Is citrine a quartz?

Indeed it is - it's just yellow or orange quartz. :)

Here's the technical stuff that I found online.
Citrine is quartz with a lemon yellow color. In natural citrine this color is produced by iron. But natural citrine is rare, so amethyst quartz is often heated or irradiated to change its purple color. The dark yellow to red brown color of this specimen formed when it was heated to more than 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. (photo)

there is even a strawberry quartz... I think it comes from arkansas
I had a Blue Quartz once, a Rose Quartz... a milky white Quartz..

I love quartz :)
I've got a few pieces of clear, a rose, smoky, blue, green, rutilated, tourmalinated, amethyst, citrine... I'm sure there's several others out there I've never heard of.
(and I mean quartz in the named sense - not other silicon dioxides :))
