My father is amazingly receptive to the energies of crystals, and while in a crystal shop last month, he purchased a stone called howlite that he said he felt amazing energies from. I also bought one, and I cleansed and charged it, but I'm ambivalent what I get from it. It definitely has an effect on me, but I'm not sure how it makes me feel - the feelings are slightly confusing. I looked through my books on crystals and I can't find it mentioned - does anyone know anything about howlite? I'm sure the stone has a message for me, but I can't decipher it. Can anyone help? My dad got visual images from his, but I get a strong confused feeling. Any insights?

All I could find about it was that it's used for dreams, astral travel, visions, and that sort of thing. I can't help you with how it makes me feel, because I don't have a piece of it.

Just remember stones react with people differently--so what may work for your dad, may not work with you. :)

Thanks for the links, AngelWitch. I checked them out and some of the qualities associated with the stone seemed to strike a chord. I think I need to meditate on the stone again and see if the stone's message comes out any clearer this time.

WtchyChick13 - thanks for your comment, I knew that stones react to people differently, it's been demonstrated with other stones in the case of my father and I. When holding a piece of blue lace agate, I felt as though I was floating in a warm, calm sea, but my father received visions of standing amid a snow-capped mountain range. :D

The way you just described that it sounds like a York Peppermint Pattie commercial! "When I eat a York Peppermint Pattie I get the sensation of standing on a cool snow-capped mountain!"

(Sorry, not enough coffee today.) :D

I do know what you are talking about. Blue Lace Agate is one of my favorites. I use it a lot in my jewelry and every time I work with it, I feel that wonderful calm that you were talking about. I love it so much that I use that color blue as my main color on my website--I just love it! :)

I don't know what a York Peppermint Pattie is! And speaking of coffee - I recently changed to decaf, I had to - serious lack of sleep problem. :(

I love Blue Lace Agate. I got a big piece from a mail order company, and as soon as I charged it, I felt this amazing calm the first time I held it. It's an amazing stone - I love selenite and tiger eye as well though. I have about 50 crystals, but I can see myself having a HUGE collection. :D

Oh no!

Well, I'll fill ya' in--a York Peppermint Pattie is a wonderful treat that has a minty creme-like center covered in chocolate. Their commercials are classics here in the US--sorry. I had forgotten where you were when I wrote that. :)

I've been a 'rockhound' since I was a kid and have quite a collection myself. It's addicting!

The funny thing is, when I started my collection, I was still unaware of the healing properties of the stones. Just another clue into my past that I was destined for the path that I'm on now I guess. :)

I'm hoping to add a large piece or 'slab' of blue lace to the collection sometime soon. It's just so gorgeous...I never tire of looking at it. :ballonsmi
