How would you deal with this situation??

I post on a non pagan board run by a dear friend in Australia. It has many people from all over the US and in OZ that come over and we dicuss funy, political and other topics of interest. Well there is this guy there, a good discription might be redneck but that would alos be insulting....however....he is constantly posting stuff to my posts like this.........ie:



"Damn, Wiccan's don't have a spell for Type II Diabetes, weight loss, pain management, HTN, & hyperthyroidism?

Is there at least a spell for getting off painkiller addiction? Where's all that Wiccan power?"


Now I have been ignoring him, but it is really getting on my nerves. I really want to lash out, but then I would be starting a war I believe on this board and do not wish to cause a problem. Oh but it just aggrevates me that he does this. And when someone calls him on it he just posts more rubbish aimed at me. And all because he thinks I am some evil wicked witch who worships the non exisitent devil etc, etc, ad infinitum. In the particular qoute I c & p'd, he is making fun of my having discussed my medical situation in reponse to someone who was similariy suffering.

Ok what would you do in this situation???? I really want to blast him out of the universe...damn it. I am the only pagan posting there at present.

I would let him know that his feeble-minded opinions and comments aren't going to affect your day-to-day life, and that he's just making himself look stupid. After that, I'd completely disregard him. If he's aiming the comments at you, he's probably hoping for a reaction. Don't give him one.

Oogh. If talking directly to him hasn't worked, could you talk to a Moderator or your friend who runs it to speak to him about his foul attitude? Something to the effect that if he doesn't quit it, he can be banned from the board?
Or you could post the address of this board here and you can have a multitude of pagans jumping to your support... (*evil grin*)

I, too, think that he's just looking for attention, and by responding in any manner, you're giving him what he's looking for. Of course, posting the link could be alot of fun too...lol :floating:

Ok gang, I have sent off a letter to my friend asking for permission to post the other boards link. A curtousy to my good frind. So if she says ok, will place it in this thread and then you may go and check it out. I think a few more of us over there even for a brief time would be helpful. Fresh prospectives are always good.

However I just wanted to say that Mystic Wicks caught my eye because of the intelligent responses that I've seen over the last few months and just had to become a member.

I'd probably sweetly explain that spells are simple prayers - and the Lord helps those who help themselves :cutie:

I would calmly and gently remind him that God as well doesn't have cures for the things he mentioned, and that you don't really appreciate him making fun of a difficult medical situation like the one you're having.

*soft smile* I would also like to just weigh in on not going over to the other board....not because I don't want to support you, but because I don't really agree with going to another board expressly with the intention of delivering a "smackdown" to some dork (not that he doesn't deserve it, I just think it's bad board etiquette).

I left this place becasue I felt uncomfortable about how some of you precived my path. I have never in all the time I have posted here, impuned anyones fath, beleifs whatever. So I ask what right to you....and you know who you are...have to make fun of me. I was going to just ignor the nasty remarks made after just about every post I have placed here since coming back....But nope, just now I found another little jab at my being a Wiccan. To what purpose did the person who placed it feel it served. To be funny?? Well it was hurtful and rude. So I am going to say this only once. I was invited back here and I rather like it here so if you can not deal with me and my ways...oh well. I am not running away, I am standing my ground. You want to nmake anymore of your snide remarks...go for it. I don't bloody care. And that is how it flows folks

After finding more than I wanted to in regards to this matter, I have had to sadly make the choice of staying at this particular board or leaving and after what went on there yesterday in response to my posting that I also put here, it is sadly going to have to be leave it. I just cannot see people being condescending as one person was most vividly or just plain stupid and cruel. I am not going to get into a battle with these few people of small and narrow minds. I thank you all for being willing to come to my defense and wish that it had never been necessary in the first place. There are just someplaces I am not going to be welcomed at and I guess I have to deal with it. Why religion or lifestyle has to be so over done and over considered by so mant peopleis beyond me. Nope just going to continue on and go in search of that one good man who I might cry on his shoulder instead of bother you my friends. Blessed Be.
