Hi everybody.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good website for info on the Celtic Pantheon. Money is a little short for books right now, and I am anxious to learn. I have always been an Egyptian enthusiast, but I seem to have been getting some signs lately to check out my heritage.

I have found a few sites, but most seem as though they were written for younger folks . . . all very elementary and generic information.

I have also read that Celtic deities can be very finicky when it comes to offering their patronage - has anyone ever had any difficulty with this?

Thanks for the help,
Kat

Hehehe! I really don't mind sites written in a juvenile style. When the information is meant for younger kids, I usually learn it easily.

There are loads of sites on Celtic deities and myth. However, many of them just simply list the deity and state his or her attribute.

Here's some sites to start you off. I know that other members who are really into Celtic mythology can lead you to some more fabulous sites.

Also, check out the stuck thread at the top of this forum on great sites for all the deities.
Also, do you have a particular region that you want to focus on? For example, do you want to learn more about Irish deities or Welsh ones...etc?

Ooh, that third site is GREAT!

You know, I hadn't even considered the difference between Irish and Welsh deities. I guess I kind of lumped it all into a "Gaelic" thing. So now I hav even more homework!

Thanks for the sites!

I'm glad that you liked the sites. Pantheon.org is an excellent site! Hey, if you are into reading about Celtic myths, I totally recommend the Arthur legends. They are so fascinating.

lol, not just Welsh and Irish, but Scottish, Manx, Cornish and Breton too :)

Though in practice, we have much more from some places than others. The Irish lore is probably the best preserved, as they were less affected by invaders, and became Christian a little later than some of the other Celtic lands.

A brilliant site for all things Irish is www.shee-eire.com
