It's morning! I'm up! I'm nearly coherent ! And there's only one reason! Krispie Kremes! Some organization in Hays did a fund raiser and went to Denver to get Krispies Kremes. I ordered 2 dozen and my best friend called last night to say he would drop them off first thing this morning. Now I'm here, but still no Krispie Kremes! If they don't get here soon I may have to beat up the delivery guy! [B]Jarod...Where the Hell are my Krispie Kremes! :dinnertim

The first time I had Krispie Kreme's I was in Texas. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!! We are just now starting to get some franchises up here in Mass. The closest ones are each almost an hour away from me...ughhhh!! We do have a great guy who owns a coffee shop here and he drives to RI to buy a couple dozen to have in his shop...bless him! lol

When we moved from Mass to Va, we went looking for Dunkin Donuts. People kept asking us,"why would you get donuts from there?"
We learned when we found Krispy Kremes up the road.
I really like the plain old glazed ones. Fresh from the back kitchen.
They pour that glazing right on top of the hot donuts........I'm hungry now. Gotta go get me some donuts!!!!

Krispie Kremes :blech:
Nasty greasy sugar coated things. Give me a donut with some flavor to it. Even Walmart's donuts are better than Krispie Kremes.

Say it ain't so Wanderer!
I think Dunkin Donuts is also very good, if you can find the right store - it seems like some have better tasting donuts than others.
Damn this thread - I'm tryin' to drop 10 pounds by the end of the month and reading about donuts isn't helping! :p

*grins* It's true. I think it's cause there's just TOO much sugar on them. It makes my teeth hurt. I honestly almost gagged the first time I tried to eat one.
*sympathizes with Shpongle* I know! I decided last week to fast today and tomorrow. So what do they do at work? Bring donuts in. :goodgrief

Danu, there are building a new Krispy Kreme shop on the west side of Wichita. There is already on on the northeast side. Come on down and pick some up, and I'll meet you for a donut and coffee/tea. It's closer than Denver, eh?

First time I tried Krispy Kremes was when I was living in Cali. Now, I have to admit I'm a Dunkin Donuts worshipper, but the K. Kreme's are pretty tasty; but only the plain sugar ones. Hope ya get your K.K.'s soon Danu, I fear for the delivery guy if you don't!

They're here! Yummy, sugary, ouey, gooey, swet nectar of the Gods! Sticky on the keyboard, but who cares! And he gave them to me free! 2 dozen free Krispy Kremes! Hawk must have psychic abilities 'cause he just came back home, but he's not getting any! Lunacie-not really closer, but I'll let you know when I'm coming down next and we'll have that coffe and doughnuts!

It' hard to tell the difference between KK and sex. And I did get some. Doughnuts, that is. She had to go to the bathroom and I found the stash! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Well! I discovered something today: Hypoglaucimia (sp?) and Kripie Kremes do not get along! I ate three of the darn things then went to work. I was absoulutely bouncing off the walls! When the buzz was over though, I felt like crap. I guess I better just eat one from now on!

i had my first Krispie Kreme donut today, as a matter of fact. it was okay i guess.
they were brought home from the new store in Portland, the one that people were camping out in front of(!) before the grand opening a month or two ago.
and i must say, i don't understand what the big deal is!
it was good, although i thought they were a bit small, and almost TOO sweet. but i'd just as soon have any other kind of fresh donut.
the miracle of marketing, i guess.

When Krispie Kremes first came to the Valley, all the local news stations ran a stories on "how" Krispie Kremes were made at the Krispy Kreme Bakery. Needless to say, I never got over the trauma of seeing that white sticky goo being liberally poured over the fried donut. Ugh!!
Not that I don't like donuts, but as far as Krispie treats are concerned, I'm more of a Rice Krispie Treat sorta girl anyway. Of the HOMEMADE variety--NOT those factory manufactured goopy rice cakes! But if I have to have a donut, I like the plain old glazed donuts from the local Fry's up the road. They're bigger and have waaay less sugar coating that the Kremes do.
~desert_yaqui
ps....Did you know that if you allow a Krispie Kreme to sit in the open air for about a day or two, you can actually use it as a weapon to impede a trespasser!! Deadly hockey puck style!

There are Krispy Kreme shops all over North Carolina.
I'm not incredibly keen on putting sugary junk food in my body, but I do find it frighteningly hypnotic and entertaning to watch the one near here make the doughnuts in their lil', well um, big, 'thing'.

Being in Canada, we don't really get KK's up here, but there IS one in Kitchener. Our Wal-Mart keeps a rack right at the entrance that's got dozen-boxes of the plain glazed ones.. to me, they look gross just in the box - they look so greasy! I've also heard from several people that they leave the most disgusting feeling in your mouth.
I don't care if they're not made right in the store, I'll stick with my Tim Horton's donuts.

:blech: I don't like Timmy's donuts. Robins, yes.
I have yet to try a KK donut.... (Same with a Dunkin Donut..) :eyebrow: But they sound like my kinda donut.

Personally, I would much rather have Daylight Doughnuts rather than Krispy Kreme... They just taste better to me. :)

I have hypoglycemia (that's how you spell it, Danu) too and most sugar things make me go up and then down so fast it's not funny. I end up napping or something. I can only stand cake donuts. Bleh.
Thanks for the spelling! All we have in this Podunk little town is a nasty Daylight Donuts and Casey's which only has cake donuts. I can't stand cake donuts so when we get KK's around here, it's like Xmas! The people doing the fundraiser sold 500 dozen in this small area so I'm not alone in my love for them! :dinnertim

Ah Krispy Creams......sighs.

I thought that mile long lines for a freakin' donut were ridiculous until the nurses shared a box that they had with Flar and me one of the times he was hospitalized. They really are better than any donut I've ever tasted.
We can only get them in Tulsa, 70 miles away.
*wonders if they do franchises*

Uhm... I'm not exactly clear on what makes these donuts so special. Are they just *ordinary* donuts that've been, erm, "gooped" with some sort of sugar concoction? Forgive my ignorance, lol.
All this donut talk has really got me craving one. The local Robin's closed awhile back...I shall have to search one out. :D

My son just about got killed tonight 'cause he came in the house and my last one! But... I have another dozen stashed in the freezer! You know you can freeze them forever and take them out 1 at a time and Nuke 'em and they're still just as good!

Maybe it is the high-fat recipe. There just really is a difference in taste, they are heavenly. I was very surprised at how much better they are than other donuts when I finally got to taste one.

My family goes wild for them. I admit I like the glazed, but I wouldn't stand in a snowstorm to get them or anything. Now, give me a ding-dong or a ho-ho, and I'll stand up and beg and make a fool of myself. Sucker for them thangs...LOL
