In honor of summer solstice.....
From the Carmina Gadelica:
Fàilte ort fhéin, a ghrian nan tràth,
A' siubhal àrd nan speur,
Is do cheumaibh treun air sgéith nan àrd,
Is tu màthair àidh nan reul.
Is tu 'laighe sìos an cuan na dith
Gun diobhail is gun sgàth,
Is tu 'g éirigh suas air stuagh na sìth
Mar rìoghain òg fo bhlàth.
"Hail, you sun of the seasons,
As you traverse the skies aloft;
Your steps are strong on the wing of the heavens,
You are the glorious mother of the stars.
"You lie down in the destructive ocean
Without impairment and without fear,
You rise up on the wave-crest of peace
Like a young queen in flower."
