I was just wondering if anyone has had any success stories with glamours, I know they are more of a parlour trick than anything, but I wanted to try at least once anyways. any tips or "how-to's" would be helpful. Also, I am being taught how to manipulate and control fires, but, being a water sign, have been having some trouble getting the hang of it. any suggestions on this topic would be great too. thanks!

It actually takes great cncentration and will. It's like if you believe you look a certain way people will see you that way. Have you ever noticed that alot of people find the more confident people attractive. I've managed to change my eye color. My eyes naturally change colors though and I can't seem to keep them the color I want for very long. It was one of the things I first tryed when I began practicing. Mostly now I try to exude an air of confidence and mystery.

I've changed my eye color as well. I did it long before I knew what I was doing. I had stormy blue/gray eyes as a child and hated them because my sister and brother both had them and some how they look better than I did with that color. I changed mine to green. I guess you could call it wishcraft. I did affirmations and vocalized my wish, often. Now, my eyes are just the color I love, green with gold flecks. (so when I cry or am very passionate about something, my eyes are bright green and gold and are really amazing looking) I did all this when I was just 9 years old and was still on a semi-christian path.

Ah the memories.....lol

Heh....well, I haven't done any glamours to myself... but I have made it so people see things that aren't there....
In order to make sure someone didnt' sit in front of me in the theater (a very packed theater), I projected (?) the image of a gross mess on the seats in front of us. :) Does that count?
It's all about belief and detail helps to...if you believe you see the change in all the detail possible (in my case, I even smelled it), and really concentrate...focus!! then you should have success. :)

Wow, that is really interesting. I truly believe in the power of thought. Did it work?

Yeah, for a good half hour (the theater was almost completely filled), until a friend distracted me and I lost my concentration.... almost immediately a couple walked up and sat down, and the movie started about 30 seconds after that. I was sooo mad, I only had 30 seconds to go! Oh, well. :)

Glamours are fun but they do take a freaky ammount of will. Which is rather amusing... a lot of fey were whimsical, but headstrong. True of any being I guess, though, to extents. I've had some work with glamours, but I find the trick is to just do it. You really have to treat it like an extension of your will, or at least I do. If I'm trying to make something happen, it falls through. It's when I make myself confident that it will happen, as a science, then it works to an extent. I can't really bolster it with will... I just have to do it without really thinking.

As for projecting images, I put that down as a sort of creation thing, but it would work for glamour too I'd imagine. Yay for semantics, heh.

I would really like to learn more about this!

Any tips, tricks, help or anything anyone can offer would be great! :)

It's hard for me, but I do have some experience. Let me work with it a little more, and I'll get back to you real soon. In the meantime, I encourage anyone with any experience to contribute to the ideas being shared here. Just in time for Samhain. ;) And folks, even if it is new to you, don't be afraid to put up some ideas, too... you might have more truth than you give yourself credit for.

Anyways, there's the HamHam peptalk for the evening... morning... thingie.

Well, you said anyone even without experience ... I always find that things in my semi-subconcious mind occur ... perhaps you need to implant the will into both your subconcious and concious mind to strengthen it - so it can sort of work even when you aren't ... I can't be sure, but it's just an idea ...

Hey, someone listened to me. That is so cool. *grins*

I actually like that idea. I've been practicing glamours the past couple of days (mostly bicep-appearance... shallow, I know, but hey, give a fella a break), and I do find myself having to reset them constantly. It's kind of like applying stage-makeup or something. It takes a lot of re-application. I'll try doing some subconscious drilling like was just suggested, maybe I can learn to apply it without thinking about it. (If you go with the flighty-fairy outlook, it would definately explain how such wild critters could maintain such illusions.) I'll try that out; awesome!

I've also been finding that I was right, at least for me, about not being able to 'try' a glamour. It has a lot to do with how you carry yourself and move/feel. It's another case of being drawn to confident people and their influences. If you don't behave according to your glamour, then you're not going to convince others of it either. (Then again, I'm an actor. So... this style works well for me.)

Any other ideas? Experiences?
