I voted for Chrystiona's. The first time I saw it, in the original thread, it seemed to have an shade of elegance about it that was unrivaled in the other submissions. I suppose her's just fits my personal view of the holidays (contemplation, meditation, celebration, etc.).

I just had to say that the one by LdyAlisa is absolutely beautiful. Even if you've already voted, I still suggest clicking on that one. Doesn't look near as good small, but up close it is very impressive.
The words just needed to be a little lighter & brighter cause they're hard to see.

I voted Cloak, but it was a tough choice ... Saphire - LIKE the eye theme for the board, but in the end was asking myself ... How seasonal is it? (I think you should just throw yourself upon Semele and beg the powers that be to use it in a specific thread *chuckle* I can think fo a few that might work.) So ... that brought up the question what exactly DOES represent Samhain, and was drawn to the movie I saw the other night "The Pumpkin Tree" a story by Ray Bradbury.
There was a lot of really cool info in there, like WHY black cats are so "atrocious." Who knew that the belief was cats, are souls reincarnate, and the darker the cat, the more evil the soul - So pure black cats were thus the most evil and vile of creatures. Crazy stuff, but neat - Check it out if you get the chance!

I also really liked the one by Chrystonia, but in the end decided it was just a shade too light and airy to fit.
LOTS of the other ones kick butt too - Just needed fine tuning like making the lettering brighter, as was mentioned. AWESOME JOB to all of you!!! Thank you for sharing.

I have found another one worth looking at in further detail if you haven't already, emaleth33. I really like it, I only wish the cat wasn't there, it doesn't seem to fit the theme on that side of the banner. It stands out too much, but I believe it is quite beautiful.

Nearly all of the artwork was beautiful and some of it relevant to the subject but Emaleth 33 (did I spell that right) seems to strike my fancy the most and really felt like it represented the halloween/Smahain theme most accurately.
Well, like scotch, good art is an acquired taste. the others will eventually get it. And the damned cat is what really filled out the mood in Emaleth's rendering!
