Hi everyone! I'm Cat. A lifetime of searching for a spiritual path to coincide with the beliefs I've always had finally led me to the Pagan/Wiccan community. The last few months I've been reading and reading and reading about Wicca and Paganism. I feel like I've reached a kind of plateau and was hoping someone could recommend a good online class/course. There are so many out there and it's hard to tell which are "commerciallized" and which aren't. I'm hoping to find something more structured than my own hit and miss "studying". Something that will hopefully help tie everything I've been reading together. Any suggestions you have -I would greatly appreciate. Thank you.

Welcome to Mystic Wicks cats3325!!! Glad to see you found us ok! Feel free to browse the boards and ask any and all questions you may have. You'll probably get just as many answers as you do replies but at least you'll have options! lol
Do you have an interest in a specific 'flavor' of Wicca or Paganism? That might help narrow the search some.
I'm sure everyone will be along in a bit to offer a seat and refreshments. We really do have a great bunch here.

If you're interested in a Celtic Wicca path, I can suggest you go to http://crystalwaterfall.com . On this website you'll find links to the College of the Crystal Waterfall. They teach Celtic wicca and will initiate you in their tradition once you've gone through the classes and passed the appropriet tests....you can earn all three degrees through them. There is a suggested $25 donation, to cover costs of mailing certificates and such to you.
I belonged to the college for a while, but the celtic wicca path just wasn't for me. There were too many things that just didn't jive with my beliefs. The people there are really nice, and Lady Moonwillow (the HPs) is a really good teacher.
Good luck in your search. :)

As a matter of fact, I own a FREE online course on Wicca. I don't know exactly what you are looking for, but check it out.

Just to let you know, the $25 for the Crystalwaterfall is *Donation* only and is *not* mandatory. I was there for about 6 months and never paid anything.

While looking through my links I found this one:
http://www.gate.net/~weaver/classes.html
I have not been to it lately and did not use it so you need to evaluate it yourself.

Actually, in regards to Crystal Waterfall, they do charge a $33 tuition fee now. From the site;
"We do ask a small $33 tuition to cover the costs associated with each student...it is HIGHLY appreciated, and will assure us of your seriousness regarding these courses. In the past, we offered these courses on a donation basis only and did NOT require anything on the student's part, but we found that too many students were not serious in their studies, therefore causing us an enormous amount of work that could have been avoided."

Hm and those are all for Wicca specifically. I'm interested in other types of Pagan classes/courses myself :)

The first course is free, but the following ones cost a bit, I think.

Here's a list of Online courses. (http://www.stormpages.com/athena/wiccan.html) Some Wiccan, some not. Correllian, Coven of the Far Flung Net, and Crystal Waterfall look quite good judging by the course outlines. Don't know a thing about the others.

I am subscribed to this course. Though, I dont follow Correlian Wicca, I thought it would be interesting to learn about it, perhaps I might adapt some of it to my Eclectic path. Its great, because you actually have to take tests and you are assigned with your own grader. I have learned a great deal from it. I would suggest it to any newbie, looking to learn a little something extra. :)

Hello Cat. I'm Bluebear.
I'm mostly a solitaire but I know that the celestials organization offers many courses along those lines and most of them are free of charge. I believe you can reach them at
www.celestials.com and they have a nice site.
Blessings

Cat I must appologize for giving you incorrect information in my last reply. The correct address for the Celestials is
http://celestials.org Again I appologize. I'm getting old and frequently suffer from a condition called rectal- cranial inversion. Blessed be
