Driving home from my store tonite, I hit a bunny rabbit - I must've killed it cuz I felt the thump when the wheel hit it. :sniffsnif I HATE it when something like that happens. I'm so careful, too, cuz it's about 7:15 pm when I'm coming home and that's primetime for critter movement. We live in a very rural area and our road is pretty deserted, so we see tons of deer, coyotes, foxes all sorts of stuff. That's one of the things we love about our place, but I don't like this at all. This is the first time I"ve ever killed anything. I've seen deer by the side of the road every nite for the past week. In fact, last Tuesday morning, I hit a deer with my car, but had slammed on the brakes and was able to slow down enough to just bump it in the tush - didn't even knock it down, so I don't think it was hurt much. Now this. :awwman: I love animals, and this just makes me really sad.

Poor bunny.

:hugs:

I know how you feel.... :( I hit a mouse once on my way to the beach for a midnite drive... So sad.. I stopped & moved it off the road afterwards. (:p)

Also, on my trip back to Ontario this year, I hit a bird.. :wah2: When I stopped later to gas up or something, there was a big bloody spot on the front of the van where it hit... Eugh...

:wah2::hugz:
Why must animals run/fly/hop/slither/prance out infront of vehicles?!

:hugz: Hugs to all of you. :hugz:

I tend to a family of squirrels and cry every time I see one that's been hit or hurt. My mother recently hit one and she had to go to the office a wreck and in tears because she felt so bad. Even later when she told me about it, she was crying.

Last week I saw a birdie that had been killed. There he was on the ground and there was nothing I could do about it. When I got home, I snuggled with my own birdie for quite some time. :(

This time of the year is so hard on the critters. Some are getting fat early for the cold and they are not as quick as they used to be during the warmer months.

Poor things. Poor bunny.

Sometimes I'm happy I don't drive. (Not often, but sometimes.;) )

Hugs again! :hugz:

I never intentionally hit an animal with my vehicle. But sometimes it happens! I've hit deer, squirrel, rabbits, birds, and a few others.

I think it's honorable that everyone does their best to avoid hitting them. But, if you do ANY amount of driving, it's going to happen! That's life in this day.

I always try to send an apology and energy for the trip to an animal that I've killed.
